When every other desert girl fades her blue skies to grey and you're all 💙💙💙💙💙

Have you guys noticed this??? All my fav desert photographers totally fade their deep blue skies away, and honestly...it creates such a better aesthetic!!! But something inside me just feels wrong when I'm in Lightroom and I can't let go of that obnoxious, bright blue. 😁😁😁 I'm sure eventually the fad will pass and I'll be here waiting with my "in your face" colors. It's just how I see the world! 💙💚💛💜🧡❤ How do you guys like to edit your photos??

I literally have no idea what to caption this photo with everything that is happening but I have so many photos I want to share so let's go! Hope everyone had a great weekend whether you were out protesting, spending time with family, or looking for prairie dogs in the middle of nowhere in Wyoming 🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️🙋🏼‍♀️. by @mountaingirlml

11/1/26 ~ 5pm. When we say the rock is wet...the rock is WET. This sandstone is so soft and there have been rockfalls all across the greater Zion region. I'd personally give this at least 72 hours to dry out, but there might be some areas ready sooner, and some that need the rest of the week to dry. Snow Canyon, Cougar Cliffs, Prophesy, and Zion got hit particularly hard and areas like Moe's and Green Valley still saw a good 1-2" well into Sunday. Checkout local limestone and basalt crags like Black Rocks, Veyo, and the Utah Hills!

Insane flashflood waterfalls at Gunlock Falls! Utah is really showing off this El Nino season. 11/1/26.

⚠️The falls are extremely volatile at this time. Please wear sturdy boots, keep kiddos close, and exercise extreme caution when visiting the next couple days. The water is still full of large debris and the rocks are slick. Fee required.

Gunlock Falls is back online and still actively growing! Vantagepoint from the top where you can see the lake has exceeded capacity and is spilling over the barrier and plummeting down canyon.

Video taken at 5:30pm 11/1/26

Extreme caution should be used at this time. The water is moving incredibly fast and full of trees and large objects. #utah #flashflood #stgeorge #waterfall #zion by @mountaingirlml

I can't believe how much rain we've still been getting in the desert this spring! 4 weekends of rain in a row, and it's still a downpour at my house tonight! Grab your kleenex because the wildflowers are about to epic. by @mountaingirlml

It's sending season in the desert, and we are officially canyoneers now!! 10 years and 4 months after first moving to southern Utah, we finally decided to leave the pup at home and try our hand at canyoneering. This is a super chill, beginner canyon, and we had a blast! Temps inside the canyon were perfect, and we had the entire place to ourselves - a real treat for this popular local outing! Who has recommendations for other 3A & 3B canyons that are appropriate for skilled climbers/new canyoneers?? #canyoneering #slotcanyons #Utah #sendtember #Desert #desertlife #greaterzion by @mountaingirlml

Let's go hiking!

As much as I did not want to set a 6am alarm clock on Sunday, you've just gotta get out early and beat the heat this time of year. As soon as I'm on the trail, I'm always so happy I got up and moved!

This is one of my absolute fav local trails - as you can see, the views are amazing, and there are so many fun rock features to explore.

Fun fact: this trail is where Josh and I self-shot our engagement photos back in 2020! 😍😍😍 by @mountaingirlml
