Flipping over jet skis, tow-ins, rescues, even some waves, everything that’s going on in a session in Nazare. Even though the swell didn’t pick up much it was a perfect experience to get closer to big wave surfing. Last summer, Hurricane Erin lit up the European coast with a giant swell. Keep swiping to read more 👉

We surfed Mullaghmore, Ireland, in August

Europe in summer is normally 1 to 2 foot.
Flat, warm, nothing on the map.

Erin brought 4.5 metres at 20 seconds.
The biggest August swell ever recorded in Ireland.

Mullaghmore is a winter wave.
We wait all year for swells like this one.

In 20 years of chasing swells, we’d never seen anything like it.

The European summer is in full swing, already eating into August.

The ocean isn’t just something we love. It’s something we’re fighting to protect.

Off the coast of Nazaré, home to the biggest waves on Earth, we’ve built Portugal’s first regenerative seaweed farm — 22.5 hectares of living proof that we can work with the ocean, not against it.

We built it alongside the people who know these waters best: surfers, scientists and local fishermen.

Now we’re inviting the global surf community to be part of something bigger than one coastline. Every contribution restores biodiversity and brings the next 200 hectares closer.

Nazaré is our garden. Help us grow it.
