Just LOOK at these stunning shades of rich chocolate, deep terra cotta, olive green, and soft pastels—each one is a masterpiece, it's like something straight out of an Easter basket!

Collecting these gorgeous eggs makes each morning feel a little more magical.

But the real magic? Raising your own chickens! Fresh, nutritious eggs packed with flavor, a deeper connection to your food, and the joy of happy hens roaming freely. Unlike factory-farmed birds, backyard chickens live their best lives—scratching in the dirt, soaking up sunshine, and giving back with every egg they lay.

Support ethical, sustainable food. Raise chickens, buy local, and say NO to factory farms. Because happy chickens lay the most beautiful eggs!

So pleased with this Blue Laced Red Wyandotte Hen

- Full body
- Beautiful dark mahogany
- Consistent lacing
- Showing the development of lacing in the hackles (which is something we are working towards in our flock)
- Beautiful yellow legs (obviously not shown)

Still need to work on shafting, but we are prepared for that to be a long term mission by @mountainviewfarmbc

It's officially Autumn and I'm falling in love

New egg from our "forest egger" coop 😍

Notice the unique bright green band along the top of the egg! To top it off, the sunset was casting a pink glow by @mountainviewfarmbc

As the earth prepares itself for a winter rest, we allow our birds the same. Hens get a reprive from the testosterone, daylight hours in the coop decrease to mimic the natural sun, protein gets bumped up in feed to support their molt, and they get extra time outside free-ranging our 5 acres before everything is cold and snowy.

Every year we continue to find ways to make our farm run more smoothly, and I'm so excited to see what next year brings us.

A massive thank you to everyone who helped support our business this year. We can't wait for you to see what we have to offer you in 2027! 🤎🥚

This rain is putting me in the moody feels 🌧 by @mountainviewfarmbc

I think heavy bloom eggs might be one of the most magical!

We try to include a few of these special and unique eggs in our rainbow egger orders to provide a chance at birds that lay eggs appearing grey, pink, mauve or even purple!

We've been LOVING the dark eggs produced from some of our Forest Eggers this year 🥰
