2027 Nitro Alternator Snowboard Review | TETON Tested at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. @ericodlin Odlin takes the Nitro Alternator 160 for a spin at Jackson Hole, riding chairlifts and ripping around the mountain on a board that genuinely surprised him. At 6’4” and 200 lbs, Eric normally rides boards in the 162–167 range. But after one run on the 160 Alternator, he was hooked. Traditional camber, exceptional pop, locked-in carving and some of the most satisfying spring snow slashes of his season. Eric even found himself getting more height and distance off small side hits than expected. His verdict? 10/10, with the pop, slash and fun factor turned up to 11. Korua Otto 161 Snowboard Review | TETON Tested at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. @ericodlin put the @korua_shapes Otto 161 through its paces on a surprise 16-inch powder day at @jacksonhole, testing everything from deep snow and natural freestyle terrain to steep groomers. The Otto floats surprisingly well for a freestyle-focused carving board, with plenty of pop and quick edge-to-edge response. The biggest takeaway? Stance matters. After initially experiencing heel-side washouts with maximum setback, Eric moved his bindings forward one set of inserts. The difference was immediate: stronger tail support, cleaner carves, and more confidence landing in the backseat. From powder laps to laying trenches, the Otto proved itself as a versatile Jackson Hole daily driver. Aerogogo GIGA PUMP Air Review | TETON Tested in Jackson Hole, Wyoming Can an electric pump this small actually inflate a stand-up paddleboard? We put the palm-sized @aerogogo_official GIGA PUMP Air to the test beneath the Tetons, with Pat Kinney helping us inflate an SUP before heading out on the water. The results? This tiny pump moved a surprising amount of air, getting the paddleboard roughly 80% inflated. But there's a catch. With a maximum pressure of just 0.51 PSI, the GIGA PUMP Air can't finish inflating an SUP. You'll still need a dedicated high-pressure pump. Where things get interesting is backpacking, camping, and potentially packrafting. With eight nozzle attachments, USB power, and a design that barely takes up any pack space, there's plenty of potential for smaller inflatables. Watch our TETON Tested review and see this little pump in action, along with some paddleboarding beneath the Tetons. Full Aerogogo GIGA PUMP Air review at Mountain Weekly News. Link in bio. Motörhead meets snowboarding! 🤘 The 2027 @nitro_snowboards Phase x @officialmotorhead snowboard brings @lemmy_kilmister_ legendary artwork to the mountain, and this board is more than just a collector's piece. We took it out for TETON Testing at @jacksonhole, riding groomers, hitting side hits, and putting it through mixed snow conditions. What stood out? Nitro's forgiving Cam-Out Camber profile, playful flex, easy turn initiation, and surprisingly solid edge hold. At a $450 MSRP, the Phase delivers impressive all-mountain performance and value, especially for beginner and intermediate riders. Some snowboards just make you want to keep riding. The 2027 Salomon Highpath is one of them. We put this board through TETON Testing at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, riding groomers, steep terrain, and mixed late-winter snow conditions. What stood out? Salomon's Rock Out Camber profile. Flat between the feet, camber near the bindings, and rocker toward the nose and tail. The result is a snowboard that feels connected to the snow, snaps from edge to edge, and has a surprising amount of pop. Fast, stable, playful, and an absolute blast to ride. I test dozens of snowboards every year, and I don't keep them all in my quiver. This one earned its spot. Full 2027 Salomon Highpath review at Mountain Weekly News. Link in bio. What if your legs had a little extra horsepower? 🦿 The future of outdoor mobility is getting pretty interesting. After 24 years of testing outdoor gear, the @hypershell.tech Halo Exoskeleton is one of those products that genuinely caught my attention. I first discovered Hypershell at CES. Now we’re TETON Testing its powered exoskeleton around Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Steep driveways. Uphill climbs. Downhill walking. Even scouting for elk during hunting season. The Halo uses four motors to assist movement at your hips and knees, with up to 1,490W of manufacturer-rated peak output. What surprised me most? How natural it feels. Once fitted, I barely notice I’m wearing it, even with the power turned off. But what really excites me isn’t simply climbing hills. It’s what technology like this could eventually mean for older adults who still love hiking, outdoor professionals, hunters and anyone who wants to keep exploring the mountains. We’re still in the early days of powered mobility, and there’s plenty of long-term testing left to do. But after spending time in the Halo, I’m excited about where this technology is heading. Rolling on the mats. Capturing every angle. 🥋📹 What happens when you bring an 8K 360-degree camera into a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu session? Our latest TETON Tested camera review takes the @insta360 X5 from Costa Rica beaches and underwater adventures to action-packed moments on the mats with John Cantale @tropicali_grown What makes this camera interesting is the ability to capture everything around you and choose your angles afterward. No need to know exactly where the action is going to happen. John put the X5 through its paces while traveling, swimming, filming action and experimenting with the invisible selfie stick and AI-assisted editing. The highlights? Sharp 360-degree footage, creative perspectives and plenty of flexibility when editing. The downside? Transferring footage to his phone wasn't always convenient. We've been testing Insta360 cameras since the X3, and the X5 shows just how far this technology has come. Richard “Gator” Rawley. One of the last real mountain men. A friend. A mentor. A father figure. And over the years, one of my best friends. They don’t make ’em like Gator anymore, that’s for damn sure. And this ain’t some Yellowstone photo shoot. Gator was the real deal. A cowboy and mountain man who lived life his way in the Wyoming backcountry. Former alligator wrestler. Gunfighter. Cowboy. Mountain man. Jackson Hole legend. But to me, he was Gator. I learned a hell of a lot from this man, and I’m grateful I got to call him my friend. They don’t make ’em like Gator anymore. 🤠 📍 Jackson Hole, Wyoming by @mountainweeklynews
From the job site to the trail. 🥾 We’ve been putting a lot of @nortiv8shoes_ footwear through real-world testing around Jackson Hole, and after our first round of reviews, I wanted to keep digging into the lineup. This time we TETON Tested four very different models: 🥾 Terrascope-Nano — lightweight work boot 🥾 Peakforce-Nano — composite-toe safety boot 🥾 Katahdin-Nano — wide-toe, low-drop hiking boot 🥾 TreeLine — waterproof hiking shoe for trails, travel and everyday wear What keeps surprising me about NORTIV 8 isn’t simply the price. It’s how technically different the products are. Composite-toe protection. Electrical-hazard and slip-resistance ratings. Wide toe boxes. Low-drop hiking platforms. Waterproof construction. Lightweight midsoles. They aren’t just repackaging the same boot four different ways. After testing multiple NORTIV 8 collections around Jackson Hole, we’re getting a much clearer picture of what this brand is building.
