This poem is about a heart that has looked at this world and realized how dark it can become when it is empty of Hussain (as).Because there are moments in life where everything feels heavy. You can be surrounded by people and still feel alone. You can smile in front of everyone and still feel something breaking inside. You can chase comfort in this dunya, but somehow the heart still feels hungry for something deeper.And then comes the path of Hussain (as).A path where tears are not embarrassing. A path where grief is not weakness. A path where service is not just helping – it is healing.When the poem says, “our world is darkness, and service is light,” it is speaking about the kind of service that saves a person from themselves. The kind of service where you stand at the door of Hussain (as) with all your tiredness, all your sins, all your broken pieces, and you say: “I may not have much to offer, but let me offer what I can.”Because the commemoration of Hussain (as) is not only for the perfect.It is for the exhausted.It is for the guilty.It is for the heart that drifted far and wants to come back.It is for the one who does not know how to explain their pain, but knows that one tear for Hussain says everything.The poem asks: the one who does not have Hussain, where will his ending be?And that question hurts, because without Hussain (as), where do we take our grief? Where do we place our shame? Where do we go when this world disappoints us again and again?But with Hussain (as), even the broken heart has a home.And the most beautiful part is that his mercy is not distant. Even the one who refuses to come, even the one who feels unworthy, even the one who thinks they are too far gone — Hussain (as) still finds a way to pull them close.That is why we cry.Not because we are weak, but because our hearts recognize mercy when they see it.That is why we serve.Not because Hussain (as) needs us, but because we need the light that comes from being near him.In a world that keeps making us feel lost, the love of Hussain (as) keeps showing us the way home.#islam #history #poetry by @mourtajaa
