I can’t believe year one of PT school is officially over. It was long, challenging, rewarding, and full of laughs, tears, failures, successes, and memories I’ll never forget.
I truly couldn’t have made it through this year without my incredible cohort, family, boyfriend, roommate, and God. You’ve all made me stronger in more ways than I can explain.
From late-night study sessions to pacing the hallways before exams, I’m so grateful for how much I’ve grown as both a student and a person. PT school has easily been one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but I’m learning to take it one day at a time.
One thing that continues to ground me is Matthew 17:20. This verse reminds me that even faith as small as a mustard seed can carry you through what feels impossible.
And of course… dance keeps me going, too. Knowing that the work I’m putting in now will one day help support the dancers I teach and future professionals in the dance world makes every challenge worth it. Dance medicine matters, and my love for movement continues to fuel this passion of mine. 👩🏽‍⚕️💙🧑🏽‍🩰 Year 2…. Let’s do this! by @move.with.alyssa_

As I begin my second semester of PT school, I’m praying for clarity, growth, and the constant reminder that the Lord is by my side. This morning, I found myself reflecting on one of my favorite songs and dances, Rescue by Lauren Daigle.
The song carries such a powerful message of unwavering hope and the presence of a loving God who doesn’t judge, but instead sits with us in the midst of difficulty. I know this semester will bring its challenges, but with God by my side, I believe I can get through it.

Semester 1 of 9 🤩
Forever grateful for the opportunity to chase my dreams. Even more thankful for the amazing classmates I’ve met along the way and for the chance to keep pouring into the relationships I’ve already built.
There were moments of doubt, a few tears, and plenty of ice cream.

Today, we honor Juneteenth — a powerful day of freedom and resilience. It’s a reminder of the ongoing journey toward justice and the beauty that has always existed within our community.

I am highlighting my choreography to “Bigger” by Beyoncé because this piece speaks to exactly that — the idea that we are part of something greater. That we come from a legacy of strength, resistance, and purpose. The movement in this piece is rooted in that spirit: grounded, unapologetic, and deeply connected to the ancestors who danced, fought, and dreamed before us.

This isn’t just a performance. It’s a tribute.

We are more than what they see. We are bigger than any limitation. 🖤
