This year is flying by and I wanted to take sometime before the Holiday’s begin to reflect on the year. I had the privilege of meeting so many incredible people attending events all over the US. I dove head first into the industry trying to soak up as much knowledge as possible.

The relocation industry is a special place, it welcomes everyone with open arms and I feel fortunate to be included. However, this year would not have been as enjoyable if it weren’t for Mike McGill. Mike has had an enormous impact on me not only professionally, but also personally. Roughly 3 years ago we crossed paths. I hadn’t a clue what he did for a living, and quite frankly it didn’t matter, but I felt a professional pull towards him. I have always tried my best to surround myself with people who I can learn from, and also look up to. Boy was I spot on! Mike has been more than just a friend, he has been a mentor in multiple ways and a person I am grateful to have in my corner.

Mike has this special ability to not only see the best in people, but bring to the surface their best qualities. He will challenge you, motivate, inspire and humble you all at the same time. He has done this for me and countless others. I can’t thank him enough for his inspiration and overall guidance. If 20 years from now I am just half of Mike I would count that as a success! 🎈 by @move_nol

I have never been fond of public speaking. Being that I am dyslexic, all things words and language tend to not be my strongest suit, therefore,speaking in front of a crowd is usually not something I would sign up for. However, I’m a big believer in doing things that are uncomfortable, things that challenge us and make us grow. Ever since my collegiate wrestling career ended I have been in search of something that could make me as uncomfortable as the sport of wrestling. When you're uncomfortable, that's when you learn something new about yourself and I was eager to find this again.

When I was asked to speak on Michigan’s panel I thought this would be the opportunity to dive into this fear. I was super nervous, however, much like wrestling when the match actually started and the discussion was underway, all the fear left me and I was able to speak freely. The one thing I always loved about wrestling was it was the only place where I felt the whole world stop when I was competing, and to my surprise, I felt the same thing when I was speaking.

So thank you Michigan Relocation Council for asking me to speak and for creating a new fire inside of me instead of a fear when it comes to public speaking. by @move_nol

The GLRC event in Cleveland was one for the books! Being in my hometown made it that much more special. Thank you to the committee for putting on such a wonderful three day event. Looking forward to next years in Columbus! by @move_nol
