Christopher Nolan didn’t use CGI to bring the giant Laestrygonians to life in The Odyssey (2026). 🐐 Instead, he relied on the classic filmmaking technique of forced perspective. • The stunt performers playing the Laestrygonians were all over 7 feet tall. • The stunt doubles portraying Odysseus’ crew were around 5 feet tall, making the giants appear even more massive on screen. • Matt Damon revealed that his own stunt double was a woman with “the greatest arms” he’d ever seen, joking that, “It was almost 100% my arms in the movie, but you’ve got to give credit where it’s due.” It’s the same practical illusion famously used by Peter Jackson in The Lord of the Rings trilogy proving once again that some of cinema’s greatest visual effects are created entirely in-camera. Do you think it would’ve been better it’s just CGI? Follow @moviemantis for more! Follow @moviemantis for more! #theodyssey #behindthescenes🎬 #christophernolan by @moviemantis

Scary Movie 6 references so many movies like Weapons, Terrifier, Scream, Sinners, Longlegs, Get Out, Smile, Halloween, Ma, and M3gan among others. 👻🔪 Reuniting the original Wayans brothers and legacy stars for the first time in over two decades, Scary Movie 6 is a “no holds barred” satire of the modern “elevated horror” era scheduled for a wide theatrical release on June 12, 2026. The film features a powerhouse ensemble including Anna Faris (Cindy Campbell), Regina Hall (Brenda Meeks), Marlon Wayans (Shorty Meeks), Shawn Wayans (Ray Wilkins), Dave Sheridan (Doofy Gilmore), and Lochlyn Munro (Greg Phillippe). This sixth installment targets a decade of cinematic hits, parodying everything from the recent Scream “requels” and Wednesday to viral horror sensations like M3GAN, Smile, Terrifier 3, The Substance, Longlegs, and Jordan Peele’s Get Out. 🔥 THE TRUMAN SHOW WAS INSPIRED BY MICHAEL JACKSON 🎬 When The Truman Show (1998) was released, many people saw it as a critique of television, celebrity culture, and society’s obsession with watching other people’s lives. But the connection to Michael Jackson makes the film even more heartbreaking. Truman Burbank lives his entire life under constant surveillance, with every emotion, mistake, and ordinary moment turned into entertainment for millions. Michael Jackson experienced a disturbing parallel in real life, where even the simplest activities could attract crowds, cameras, and relentless media attention. As the comparison goes, both were human beings with genuine feelings who were often treated more like spectacles than people. The more famous Michael became, the harder it seemed for the world to separate the global superstar from the person behind the fame. And that’s what makes this comparison so powerful. The Truman Show (1998) wasn’t just about a man trapped inside a television program. It was about what happens when the world becomes so obsessed with watching someone that it forgets they’re a human being. Michael Jackson lived through a version of that reality long before social media existed. 💔 Follow @moviemantis for more! The Epic Conclusion Set 17 years after the events of Part Two, Paul Atreides is now Emperor, and Dune: Part Three looks like nothing we have seen from this trilogy before. Villeneuve is calling it a thriller, more action-packed and tense than either of the first two films. The visual parallels throughout the trailer are stunning, echoing imagery from the first two films in a way that feels completely intentional. Shot primarily on 65mm and IMAX film, with the desert sequences kept in digital because Villeneuve wanted to preserve what he calls “the brutality.” Hans Zimmer returns with a score that sounds completely different from the previous installments. And the Fremen chant you hear in the trailer? That is Timothée Chalamet’s actual voice, confirmed by Zimmer himself. In cinemas December 18. MARVEL’S VISIONQUEST IS GETTING SOME SERIOUS LOVE FROM CRITICS! 🔥🎬 Paul Bettany returns as Vision in VisionQuest (2026), and early reviews are praising his emotional performance, James Spader’s scene-stealing return as Ultron, and the series’ deeper exploration of identity, consciousness, and family. Critics have also highlighted the surprising father-son dynamic at the heart of the story. While some feel the series is disconnected from the wider MCU, others are calling it one of Marvel’s most interesting recent TV projects. With the first four episodes now streaming, has Marvel finally delivered another standout series? What are your thoughts on VisionQuest so far? 👀 Follow @moviemantis for more! ❤️ THE CAST OF 10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU REUNITED 27 YEARS LATER 🎬 The cast of 10 Things I Hate About You (1999) reunited on Dancing with the Stars in 2026, bringing back memories of one of the most beloved teen romantic comedies ever made. Julia Stiles, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Gabrielle Union, Larisa Oleynik, Andrew Keegan, and Susan May Pratt came together for an emotional reunion, but the most touching moment belonged to Julia. She paid tribute to Heath Ledger with a contemporary dance alongside Ezra Sosa, set to Frankie Valli’s “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You,” the same song Patrick Verona famously sang to Kat Stratford from the school bleachers. Twenty-seven years later, that iconic scene still means so much. Seeing the cast reunite while honoring Heath reminded everyone that some movies become more than just movies. They become memories we carry with us forever. ❤️ Heath Ledger will always be a part of this story. Follow @moviemantis for more! Shane Gillis and Danny McBride playing rival weathermen might be the most unexpectedly perfect comedy pairing of the year.🔥 In a four-minute ad for @Kalshi, a simple weather forecast turns into a ridiculous battle of egos, delivering the kind of chaotic humor you’d expect from a full-blown comedy movie. The fact that this is just an AD makes it even funnier. 😂🔥 Someone needs to put these two in a movie together ASAP. #KalshiPartner #ShaneGillis #DannyMcBride #Comedy by @moviemantis

Old Disney had a surprisingly dark and eerie side, filled with shadowy forests, haunted castles, sinister villains, poison apples, skeletons, mysterious potions, creepy creatures, and unsettling magical imagery. The hand-drawn animation gave these moments an atmosphere that feels difficult to recreate, using deep shadows, dramatic lighting, twisted landscapes, strange silhouettes, and haunting colors to make even ordinary places feel mysterious and dangerous. There was often a sense that something frightening could be hiding just beyond the edge of the screen. From terrifying villains and supernatural spells to cursed objects, eerie forests, dark castles, and scenes surrounded by death and mystery, these details gave classic Disney a much more gothic fairy-tale feeling. Even when the stories were made for families, the artists weren’t afraid to explore darker imagery and let the atmosphere become genuinely unsettling. That contrast between beautiful hand-painted animation and frightening subject matter is a huge part of what made old Disney feel so distinctive, haunting, and memorable. by @moviemantis
