Week Recap🙅🏾‍♂️

This week was a short one but the Men of Excellence made the most of it.

This Tuesday we conducted our opening ceremony for our new members. We are extremely proud of everyone who took the time to apply, participate in the interview process, and earn the opportunity to become a part of Men of Excellence. We can’t wait to see what they will do in the future.

The Men of Excellence also hosted an event this Thursday featuring Scott Colom and Ty Pinkins. This event was focused on voter education and civic engagement. Both of our guest speakers shared their perspectives, answered questions, and provided valuable insight into the importance of being informed and engaged within our communities. Also special shoutout to all of our collaborators @idealwomanmsu @bsa_msstate @kbalphas @akalambda_eta

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported us throughout the week. We’re just getting started, and we hope to see you at more Men of Excellence events in the future! by @moxmsu

Last Thursday, the Men of Excellence had the opportunity to give back to our community by volunteering at the Boys & Girls Club of Starkville. Our members lent a helping hand by cleaning, organizing, and rearranging the facility to help create a more welcoming and organized space for the youth they serve.

During our time there, we also had the opportunity to be featured in a news segment on Take30 News, highlighting our commitment to service and making a positive impact in the Starkville community.

We are grateful to the Boys & Girls Club of Starkville for allowing us to serve and thankful for Take30 news reporter Avery Taylor for taking the time to feature us during his segment.

Yesterday, the Men of Excellence had the opportunity to collaborate with our sister organization, @idealwomanmsu , to host our first general body meeting of the semester!

During the meeting, we discussed our plans and goals for the remainder of the semester, established expectations for our members, and took time to network and build connections with one another.

We’re excited for what’s ahead and look forward to continuing to strengthen the partnership between MOX and IDEAL throughout the semester! by @moxmsu

Introducing our MoX Member of the Week- Malik Ealey

Malik is a dedicated sophomore majoring in social work here at Mississippi State University.

Malik has been intentional about staying involved and supporting MOX by showing up to events, connecting with and welcoming new members, and taking photos to help capture the moments we’ve shared.

Malik says, “I try to bring a positive attitude wherever I go and represent MOX in a way that reflects what being a Man of Excellence is all about. I’m grateful to be recognized as MOX Member of the Week, and I’m looking forward to continuing to grow, get involved, and support the brotherhood.”

Malik’s commitment to service, consistency, and willingness to contribute wherever needed reflect what it means to be a Man of Excellence. We are proud to recognize him for the impact he continues to make and look forward to seeing his continued growth and development. #excellenceinaction by @moxmsu

Yesterday, the Gamma Psi Chapter of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. hosted our Suicide Prevention Awareness Panel focused on education, support, and breaking the stigma surrounding mental health. 🤎💛

A special thank you to Men of Excellence @moxmsu for helping make this event possible and to MSU Student Counseling Services @msstate_scs for providing valuable resources, answering questions, offering advice, and sharing important information with everyone in attendance.

We also appreciate everyone who came out, participated in the conversation, and helped create a supportive space for such an important topic. Remember to check in on those around you, listen without judgment, and never be afraid to seek help when needed.

Your life matters, and you are never alone. 🤎💛
