The other day I was talking to someone looking to start needlepoint and they said “It all just looks so complicated. I don’t even know where to start.” So the bare bones basics of what you need to start the best hobby ever? Literally just a canvas, needle, thread, and scissors. That’s it. Here are all my tips on gathering the basics for your first project. I’ll make another post soon showing you the first stitch you need to know, continental, but in the meantime- just search up “continental needlepoint stitch” on YouTube or TikTok and you’re good to go! *13 or 18 mesh: 18 mesh
*Stitch in hand or on stretcher bars: Stretcher bars on a stand for most project. If it’s a really small project, in hand.
*Big project or small ornament: small ornament. ADHD.
*Finish fast or savor every stitch: Finish fast. Again, ADHD.
*Bright and bold or soft and neutral: Bright and bold!
*Morning stitcher or night owl: Night owl
*One project at a time or ten wips at once: Ten wips at once
