‘Sincretismo' is Out Now 🧡

This is my first fully self-produced EP: four tracks where Afro-Venezuelan Tambor and Wayuu Kasha become enmeshed with 90s Merengue, Dembow, Raptor House and Techno until the seams disappear. I’ve has spent two decades between Caracas and New York building a practice I now call Tambor Futurismo: a radical reimagining of Venezuelan folkloric traditions in contemporary electronic music calling for less nostalgia, more futurism.

Sincretismo is the first of a three-EP series.

for de los / the los angeles times, i wrote about divas and opera and raving and venezuela and the way all of this and more manifests through the prism of arca and her galaxy-brained latest ‘xxxxx’. i have had the privilege of seeing her spin (the decks, herself) in four countries now…nada como esa noche en caracas del 2024 que vive siempre en mi corazón ❤️‍🔥 thank you forever to suzy exposito for her wisdom and patience and edits and gavel and trust taken in Mutant by @mpeach

Sincretismo - my new EP, ya llegó!

Out now on Bandcamp, exclusive there until the official all-platforms release on September 9. Link in bio 🔗

This is an exciting one, my first fully self-produced EP: four tracks (Mentiroso, Gózalo, Woof and Yonna) where Afro-Venezuelan Tambor and Wayuu Kasha become enmeshed with 90s Merengue, Dembow, Raptor House and Techno until the seams disappear. I’ve spent two decades between Caracas and New York building a practice I now call Tambor Futurismo: a radical reimagining of Venezuelan folkloric traditions in contemporary electronic music calling for less nostalgia, more futurism. Sincretismo is dense, club-oriented and made for the dance floor. It’s the first of a three-EP series built around the same idea.

🤑🤑🤑 From the depths of Neukölln to Sri Lanka, we raised 1500 EURO for @sambolfoundation last weekend @sameheads ‼️ Only possible thru the artists who played the sickest sets for free & to the dancers who paid on the door. Huge THANK UUU to those who came out for this! 5th year running !!! Amazing to raise money for this organisation and connect us from the diaspora, the kids of those displaced by the 30 year civil war … all this via music 🌊🎺🤑🌶️🖤🥥🌴🙏🏿🦵🏿🌶️‼️🔫🔥💸
