🍉🍉🍉🍉🍉Very excited to learn about this thoughtful and generous review of my short CUATRO PAREDES by Mathieu Macheret in the latest issue of @cahiersducinema_officiel (translation from FR by Jordan Mintzer, Kiarostami on the cover). To be altogether too honest, it’s a welcome affirmation after all the festival rejection and cries of “pretentious” and “boring” on @letterboxd but also a reminder that if you make things you want to see, chances are there’s someone out there who will want to see them too. This Sunday, Oct 4 at 3:15pm: I need all my Baltimore people to come out to see this increíble film I produced with my friend Rob Rice @public.monies @ponderosamovie. We are so excited to screen this surreal political satire at @newnextfilmfest. It’s a dream come true to be part of a program like this. I’m super sad I can’t be there, but Rob will be, and you should just walk up to him and introduce yourselves after the screening because he is a very generous and friendly person. At the very least, stay for the Q&A, because this is a film that gives us lots to talk about and there’s much to unpack here and I know Rob would be excited to answer your questions. Please send me pics from the screening and the Q&A so I feel a part of things? If you’ve read this far, my birthday is on the 6th, so your presence on the 4th will be a birthday gift to me. by @mporterfield

Putting a happy face on the feed because I’m sad I can’t be at @labiennale for the premiere of “Salón de belleza”, the first film by @nathaliaacevedo. This is a film I’m honored to have helped produce alongside @paulinaviolencia @kintsugicine @madrefocatv and our partners in France, Farol Films. “Salón de belleza” premieres tomorrow as part of the selection of @giornatedegliautori at 4:30pm in Sal Perla. It is a bold adaptation of the eponymous novel by Mario Bellatin and represents years of work by an incredibly dedicated group of artists. by @mporterfield
