Yesterday was a full day, but one that reminded me of the many ways we celebrate the people and institutions that make Pine Bluff special.

I started the morning at the 23rd Annual Tour de Bluff, where I had the honor of presenting a proclamation recognizing an event that continues to bring people together and showcase our community.

From there, I joined family, friends, and community members in celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. John Flowers, Sr. His homegoing was a powerful reflection of a life devoted to medicine, education, family, and service to others.

I closed the day celebrating another remarkable milestone, the 40th Pastoral Anniversary of Pastor William Shaw Jr., honoring four decades of faithful leadership, ministry, and service.

From celebrating our community, to remembering a life well lived, to honoring 40 years of ministry, yesterday was a reminder that service leaves a legacy.

Grateful to have been present for each of these meaningful moments in our community.

Great conversations at the @searkcollege Workforce Summit, but what I appreciated most was seeing students from each school district at the table.

When we’re discussing what young people need to be successful, their voices should be part of the conversation. After all, no one knows what our students need better than the students themselves!

When we listen to them and connect education with real workforce opportunities, we’re not just investing in students—we’re building a stronger workforce and a stronger Pine Bluff.

You don’t have to leave Pine Bluff to be great. 💯

I’m proud of the work the City of Pine Bluff, AR - Government is doing to invest in our young people and create opportunities for them right here at home.

I couldn’t fit the full conversation in this clip, but it’s worth the watch. Special thanks to K & C Media for working with me to highlight why investing in Pine Bluff’s youth matters!

Every opportunity to stand before my community reminds me why I serve. Pine Bluff has shaped who I am, and even when the work is difficult, I still believe that our City is worth fighting for!

As Former President Barack Obama stated, “We are the change that we seek.”

Pine Bluff, let’s talk. 🗣️

Pine Bluff has challenges, and we should never stop demanding solutions. But constant negativity, misinformation, and criticism without solutions don’t move our city to new heights.

We can acknowledge progress AND seek solutions. Both can be true!

As you swipe through these slides, remember: building a better Pine Bluff takes all of us, not just City Government!

Life as a Public Servant: Lesson 1

Not every criticism deserves your attention. Every responsibility deserves your best effort. Public service means hearing praise and criticism, sometimes in the same hour. Stay focused on serving, not reacting.

2024 ➡️ 2026

The title may be the same, but the vision is bigger, the experience is deeper, and the mission remains unchanged.

Here’s to the next chapter. ✨

I’m grateful to have successfully completed the @armunileague’s Basic Grant Writing Certification.

As someone who is passionate about local government and community development, I’m always looking for ways to better serve the people of Pine Bluff. Strengthening my grant writing skills will help me identify funding opportunities that can support projects, improve services, and bring additional resources to Pine Bluff.

Thank you to the Arkansas Municipal League for investing in the next generation of municipal leaders through quality training and professional development. I look forward to putting this knowledge into practice and continuing to grow as a public servant.

This past weekend, I had the honor of serving as a state delegate at the Arkansas Democratic State Convention, representing Jefferson County. During the convention, I joined fellow delegates in adopting the Democratic Party of Arkansas’s (@arkdems ) 2026-2028 platform, which will help guide the Party’s policy priorities and legislative agenda in the years ahead.

I also had the opportunity to hear from DNC Vice Chair and Pennsylvania State Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta (@malcolmkenyatta ), whose charge to “Get on the bridge” served as a powerful reminder that meaningful progress requires all of us to step up and do our part. Grateful for the opportunity to engage in the democratic process and continue working toward a stronger future for our state.
