Dad passes me the bigger whipper snipper to replace the coil. I pass him the smaller one back. As he whips n’ snips, or however you’d describe what these tools do, I appreciate the design of the newer whipper. He takes a break and calls out to me, “I shoulda got a mans one!” Holding up and gesturing the older whipper he’s using is too small, and therefore not manly. I yell back “Probably means tested!” He laughs and goes back to the job at hand. I load the coil and wonder what the hell masculinity is again. by @mqn8r

Just posted some words n’ pics about a silver car on Corner Stories (link in bio). For people not into cars;

Here’s a pic of me posted up from the public holiday that my mate @bryce.tindall took. I bought the Brixton newsboy cap from a shop in the arcade with some birthday money from my grandma in 2019. It’s taken a minute to grow into. The tee is a hand-me-down from @weaponsdevelopment and the Jordan 3’s @santana.sim gifted me.

When I was in primary school I burned through my runners and so Mum & I walked up to Athletes foot in Burnside Village to get me new ones. Somehow I convinced her to see what shoes were available a few stores down at a shop called ‘Making Waves Surfwear’. I begged her to buy me a set of red Globe high-tops because they looked like Jordans. She caved.

I wore my fresh kicks to school the next morning and was immediately bullied. I loved those shoes. As for the car I’m sitting on, I used to see one just like it up the road from school and on the way to my childhood mates place. I never took much notice of the design because the number plates read SEX000, and I was more curious about who would be seen driving a car with such plates (He’s more normal than I expected).

Anyway I bought mine in 2020 for $1300. So between the RMW belt my Dad got for his 21st that I taxed a few years ago or the Butter jeans I bought rinsing a mates store discount there’s not much monetary flex in this image, yet I still felt like a king. by @mqn8r

When I was a jit, my male role models would drink beers and yell abuse at the SANFL umpires with the wit of someone working in advertising (I think one of them was). Nowadays you’re not really meant to do that (one of their sons literally umpired the Grand Final). But old habits die hard or something. So what does someone suffering a built up urge to poorly pursue their own self righteousness do instead? Facebook Marketplace. You see, morons with crappy listings are the new rubbish umpires, their behaviour affecting my perception of the game. And so after a good cuppa I implore you to sit down, examine human behaviour and find the most creative way you can to tell someone they’re off their chops, asking that much for a BNS ute in Whyalla I have no intentions of ever owning. #twinningsaustralianafternoontea by @mqn8r

Listening to Dis Dat at work today and ended up reflecting on Commodores and buying cars. I caught a @mycousinvlad tour show with Aus & BT earlier this year and it was cracker. by @mqn8r
