POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
A small group of high schoolers discover an ancient Aztec death whistle in the locker of a recently deceased student. During an evening of underage drinking, they decide to use it with the idea of summoning the dead, only to realize in hindsight that it summons death to those who hear it.

I decided to rewatch this film as a refresher and despite some of its flaws such as having a plot similar to Final Destination and at least one unlikable character (i.e. drug dealing "preacher boy") this film has some positives to it. It's setting carries an atmosphere of a hopeful future as these kids appear to be in their senior year and are preparing to go out into the world, however, this hope is cut short as one by one they begin dying each in their own interesting ways. The cinematography is good and the dialogue is typical for what you would expect from writers trying to mimic what high schoolers today think and talk. The film even has a very well done synthwave rendition of Cyndi Lauper's Time after Time performed by British band Gunship and I must admit I'm really into it. Where the film begins to lose its charm is when you realize that its following a similar premise as Final Destination as mentioned earlier. Besides the cursed object killing them, there's also a side villain whose the local drug dealer masquerading as a "youth preacher" I order to use his church for dealing, and even goes as far as to believe his own con that a higher power wants him to create addicts. Personally, I think it's how young he is that throws it off, but it can be overlooked to a degree seeing as he's not an important character.

Overall, this is a film that makes you want to like it but it feels like things are missing, or perhaps they should have cranked up the fear factor. But I will let you be the judge and feel free to leave a comment and let me know what you think.

With the changing of the seasons in full effect, we now approach our beloved spooky season. The the colors of black and orange standing out from the decorations. The costumes and parties. And what better way to prepare for favorite month than with a combination of both! We @thekillerpointofviewnetwork have decided to go over some of our favorite horror films that bring with each of them not only the thrills and chills but also the nostalgic effect. As can often happen with watching a random horror flick, I occasionally come across one unworthy of the label, as is the case with 'Do Not Enter" (2026).

A group of urban explorers looking to make it big in the sphere of social media set there sights on an abandoned hotel with a troubling past rumored to have millions of dollars hidden away in it. They get more than they bargained for when a sinister force lurks its halls.

The film begins with it's character introductions (who they are, what unites them, etc.) The plot that we are expected to follow is a mundane tale of hidden money tucked away in an abandoned hotel along some forgotten beachfront property that surprisingly not even BlackRock wants nothing to do with. Tagging along with them is a mysterious journalist claiming to be in search of his next big story. Tie this all together with a disgruntled former employee who's now hooked up with the wrong crowd also in search of the money by any means necessary, and what you have is a lukewarm PG-13 film with no real character depth; a boring plot, and a bland supernatural element with a motive that lacks complexity. by @mr.averagejoe89

I'M BACK FOLKS!!!

It will take some time to get back to the consistency of posting on the regular, but I'm rested up and ready to go! Join me for another journey into finding something to watch for your weekend with reccomendations and other segments in the works including reviews of new releases and forgotten works.

On the day of June 2, 2011 the Arizona boarder town of Sangre de Cristo consisted of a population of 57 residents. By the following morning the entire town had been slaughtered with the exception of only one survivor. The police were quick to accuse. The court was swift with its verdict. And the media did not hide its prejudice. The only evidence that was overwhelming, but no one could explain were the 36 photographs that the condemned had taken with his camera on that fateful night.

New Episode Available Now!

How far would you go for the person you love? And at what point does passion become something much darker?

In this episode of The Killer Point Of View Podcast, we dive into the 2026 horror film Obsession, breaking down the film’s unsettling premise, standout performances, atmosphere, and the way it explores the dangerous line between love, devotion, and fixation.

First, we keep things spoiler free as we discuss our overall experience, whether the film lived up to expectations, what it does well, who this movie is really for, and whether we would recommend it to fellow horror fans.

Then, the gloves come off. In our Spoiler Discussion, we unpack the story’s biggest moments, the effectiveness of its ending, the film’s most disturbing scene, and the question of who the real villain actually is. Beneath the horror, we explore the deeper fear the movie is tapping into and the warning it may be leaving behind.

We take the conversation beyond Obsession with this week’s Killer Question: Is obsession always dangerous, or can it sometimes be mistaken for love, passion, or devotion?

Finally, it’s time for the verdict. Will Obsession be a Killer, a Survivor, or a Casualty?
