Last night was one of those nights that reminded me exactly why we do this.

Outpst wouldn’t be where it is today without this community. So getting the chance to bring everyone together, share a little more about who we are and what we stand for, and give Aspen the first look at our 26/27 collection felt pretty damn special.

There have been a lot of long days behind the scenes getting to this point. Last night, looking around a packed room full of friends, family, locals, athletes and people who have supported this thing from the beginning, it felt like all of that work had led somewhere.

Huge thank you to Aspen Weather App for doing this with us and sharing what they’re building, and to the Golden Horn for giving us a place to make it happen. Places like this and nights like these are a huge part of what keeps Aspen feeling like Aspen.

And most importantly, thank you to everyone who pulled up.

This community is the reason we get to keep building Outpst.

Mr. T.

I’ve gone back and forth on whether I wanted to share this one. Hunting is controversial, and taking the life of an animal isn’t something I take lightly. But this hunt meant too much to me not to tell the story.

I waited three years for this tag and spent months scouting, planning and preparing. We saw bucks almost every day, had close calls, and watched opportunities disappear into the timber.

Then came the last day.

With a flight to London the next day and only a few hours of shooting light left, I packed up camp and went somewhere completely new.

I hiked up a valley, glassing every meadow and avalanche path along the way. Eventually, I accepted that the deer had won.

One last look.

1.2 miles away, 2,300 feet above me, I spotted something on a ridgeline. I couldn’t even tell if it was a buck, but I had a feeling.

So I went.

I climbed as hard as I could and eventually popped over a knob to find him at 312 yards. With only minutes of legal light remaining, completely exhausted and trying to slow my breathing, three years of waiting came down to one moment.

That was Mr. T.

The work was just beginning. I spent that night alone in the backcountry, exhausted and dehydrated, processing him in the dark. I couldn’t physically carry everything out at once, so I packed one load that night and came back the next morning for the rest.

It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done and one of the experiences I’m most grateful for.

I know hunting isn’t for everyone. For me, it’s created a connection to wildlife, conservation, wild places and my food that I deeply value. There’s a real weight to taking an animal’s life, and I don’t think that should ever disappear.

Mr. T will feed me, my family and my friends. I know where that food came from, the work it took to bring it home, and I’m grateful that hunting also allows me to contribute to conserving the wildlife and places that make experiences like this possible.

So this post isn’t about antlers.

It’s for Mr. T.
