I meant $55k net on ALL my short term rentals, not on this property in particular.

This ain’t Texas…this is NYC..where short term rentals are pretty much banned…unless you buy properties that are approved for transient housing…which I have been.

I had no intention of starting a short term rental business but when the city went to war with Airbnb, I found that they wiped away 90% of the illegal listings…leaving a void to fill with my approved buildings.

I decided to double down on the opportunity and buy more.

In life, there isn’t always a clear sign of which direction to go..but if you pay attention, have no fear of pivoting and take action when opportunity presents itself..you will win 9 out of 10 times.

One last thing to remember, whatever is stopping most people from making money will make a few people a lot of money…don’t be most people. taken in New York City by @mr.judebernard

Ran my Amex up to $145k this month. $100k minimum payment due. All part of the game.

Spent over $20k at Amazon and Wayfair in last 24 hours trying to furnish new short term rental.

Best spend by far was the $5 honey chicken biscuit I got from Popeyes.

I added another property to my short term rental portfolio.

11 bedrooms that rent for $2500 a night in NYC.

I just got my first booking that will be here in 19 days..for $10k.

Amazon and Wayfair boxes keep coming in.

Think I will get this placed furnished and ready to go by November 1? by @mr.judebernard

You need to be a visionary if you want to be successful in real estate. Being able to see what it can be as opposed to what it is has always been my secret sauce in investing.

Finding problem properties with title issues, structural instability or infighting amongst the heirs is my sweet spot…most people walk away from the headaches…I run towards them.

Most people will miss out on opportunities because it is often disguised as work.

To be successful you have to get out of the mindset that hard is bad and only easy is good. Sometimes hard is part of the game and it weeds out the weak.

Once you sharpen you skills at seeing the end result, you will no longer be discouraged by the process. You will become like an artist who is able to chip away at a piece of stone to make a beautiful sculpture. by @mr.judebernard

Here’s a glimpse into my life.

I’ve recieved recognition before.

New Yorker of the Week, Brooklyn Power 100, Citations from elected officials and write ups from national publications like NY Times and People magazine.

But this one hit different. This one came from people who really know me…all of me. Where I came from, what I did, what I been through..all my sins and failures.

And yet they still celebrated me.

Not sure who needs to hear this, but no matter how bad you think your story is…there are plenty of chapters to be written. Write your story of redemption and triumph…instead of letting the bad moments define who you are.

I’ve cheated, I’ve failed, I’ve lost everything, I’ve let people down…but at some point..the good began to outweigh the bad. To the point where it seems people can’t even believe what my past consisted of when I tell them.

It’s one thing to get acknowledged by people who have only seen you as the finished product..but to be celebrated by those who saw you in your darkest hours really helps you get past your bouts of imposter syndrome.

And lastly, something must have gotten in my eyes..I wasn’t emotional. by @mr.judebernard
