Man… I never thought I’d see the day when I would have to put these words together about my brother, my best friend, my other half. Two Jemels. One brotherhood. Before there was Flyboyz, there was DBD. Death Before Dishonor. That was our foundation. That was our brotherhood. Then came Flyboyz. Man, if those days could talk!
Anybody who knew us back then knew one thing: the party didn’t really start until the two Jemels walked through that door! Melly had that charm with the ladies, that confidence, that personality, and Lord knows that boy could dance his ass off! 😂 We didn’t need an invitation to turn up. We WERE the entertainment! We laughed together. We hustled together. We made mistakes together. We celebrated together. And through it all, we never stopped believing in each other. This one cuts deep.
Because you weren’t just my friend.
You were part of my childhood. Part of my story. I wish I could hear you crack one more joke, especially one of those jokes that had absolutely nothing to do with what we were supposed to be talking about. Melly, we always wanted to be big.
And looking back at the lives we lived, the memories we created, the people we met, and the bond we built, I realize something.
We were already big, brother. We just didn’t know it. Your chapter here may have ended, but your name, your laughter, your dancing, and your legacy will continue through every person who was blessed enough to know you. And as long as I’m here, the story of the two Jemels will never die. From DBD to Flyboyz. We did it together. I love you, Melly.

I’m so hurt!!! But ur pain n suffering is FINALLY OVER!!! I just thought I had more time, but time waits for no man. You are a TRUE SUPERHERO and the true definition of a FATHER. When I heard my arm broke n we could have sued the hospital at birth ur ass turn down the suit n took a job. But as a man now I see it’s not about one mouth but you had to feed many so the job was the right decision. One of my best memories was taking you to go see Smokey Robinson. Singing Smokey to me as a kid plays in my head every time I think of you. Not being with u really hurts but I see at 2:15 u made ur way to me n all I can do is be grateful n blessed. Today’s is our day n I don’t take FATHERHOOD light and never will but I will show CAYENNE everything I learned from watching you and continue to be the SUPERHERO for him as you were for me.
