Vermont 100K, 2026. After six years of covid and flood cancellations, a dnf, a dns, I finally got back across the finish line. Last few miles weren’t pretty but I got it done. My wife and daughter were an awesome crew.

1. The start.
2. The crew.
3. With a former student-athlete who listened to my stories of running ultras and still decided to give it a shot. He finished 11th and first in the 20-29 age group in his first 100k.
4. Putting on a good face at the last aid station. Things were not going well at this point.
5. Hobbling across the finish.

My first collection of poems, “Weekend Poems” was accepted for publication by Finishing Line Press. The title is because when I returned to writing with more serious intentions two years ago, many of my first new poems emerged from two specific weekends. Anyways, I’m not good at giving myself credit, but I’m happy to see my writing take this step! by @mrbarrywrites

Millie the puppy expressed her feelings about my poems dealing with confronting cruelty as a child that were published in the @fishgirlcollective ‘Bruised Knees and Gardenias’ issue by trying to the book.
I told her that these are some of the darkest poems I’ve shared and I am grateful they found a home in this publication. by @mrbarrywrites
