Who in my network or extended network is working towards building a retreat center, entheogenic-oriented or otherwise, in the state of California, and is looking for land? Alternatively, if anyone wants to do the old “lets buy land and build a community together” thing, this is the only realistic option I’ve ever seen to do this in the Lake Tahoe area. I’ve recently come across a property that would be perfect for either of these scenarios that is extremely well-priced, especially for the location and proximity to the bay area. Current owner had plans to build it into an event & wedding center, so the business plan for these types of operations, along with all approved site plans & permitting, is included in the purchase price. Site is 4 parcels on 11 acres with 80,000 square feet of allowable coverage (that’s a lot of housing and/or rental units, plenty of room for a large barn / community building, and plenty of additional allowance for roads, driveways, and parking). It includes 1100’ of frontage on the Truckee River (raft in the summer, cold plunge in the winter, unlimited fresh water security year round), and it backs up to thousands of acres of forest land on the other three sides. According to local legend Joe Roemer, a white horse named Zumgali used to live wild on the property, though nobody has seen him for years. “Rampart Village” as it used to be called in its heyday when there were 12 homes on the land, is less than 2 miles to Tahoe City and Lake Tahoe itself, and is a short drive to several world class ski resorts. Hello dear humans of the internet. My name is Brian and I am still enamored with plants, especially this beautifully aromatic Anise Hyssop that @wild.rose.medicine and I harvested recently in the Sierra Buttes for the apothecary we’re building out together in Tahoe City, CA. I plan to visit the areas that we harvest from for another year or two to watch the ebb and flow of growth over time. If the plants continue to flourish like they are this year, I’ll be comfortable harvesting a larger amount to distill into an essential oil, which should be utterly divine in chocolate. Who wants to try it out?! 🌱🍫

Bear break-in last night. Looks like our local guy is still leading cacao ceremonies in the woods, and ran out of his supply since the last time this happened. Bears in Lake Tahoe prefer @endorfinfoods ceremonial cacao, if that isn’t an endorsement I don’t know what is. 🍫🐻🌲

Well, apparently it’s International Dog Day (whatever that is?!), so I’d love to take a moment to shout to the world that after way too many years without a dog in my daily life, @wild.rose.medicine and I brought this little guy home a few days ago. What a year... Whether you’re someone that follows me here on social media or one of my besties, I majorly appreciate the kind words and support that y’all have been sending my way throughout 2019. 🙏🏻
