BEHIND THE SCENE 🎬 of #artbaselqatar 2026 …
What an amazing honor and exciting logistical challenge to be invited in #doha for the inaugural Art Basel in Qatar . 🇶🇦
I was tasked to paint in 6 days a padel court in my signature style, a way to bridge Art and Sport + east meets west .
I chose the dynamic power of spraying in order to complement the mesmerizing skyline of Doha while contrasting with the sacred site of the Islamic museum .

Inaugurated by H.E. Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al-Thani, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, and attended by David Beckham, the installation blends movement, colour, culture and community in a way Qatar has never seen before.

Designed to be played on and experienced, the court is open to the public, then gifted to the Shafallah Centre for Persons with Disabilities, leaving a lasting social impact beyond the fair.

A bold fusion of art, sport, and purpose. Doha, this is one for the books.

As you can imagine. the production took a village !
First thank you to my amazing assistant @yungmarg for following me to the other side of the world blindfolded (over a text message:)

🙏to @eyefulart and @eyeful_art_europe for the constant support.
@liquitexofficial for the great products !
🙏
Her excellency
@almayassabnthamad for unveiling the project.
@davidbeckham for being such a cool guy to chat with .
@faballegre @artbasel @auditoire … 🙏 the men (and women) « with the plan !!!

Doha , you were a wonderful surprise, your kindness will never be forgotten… until next time 🫶 taken in Doha Qatar by @mrd1987

🎨In a space alive with colors and imagination, Al Shafallah Center celebrated an exceptional artistic moment by hosting world-renowned artist Sébastien Boileau ( @mrd1987 ) — an icon of street art and contemporary murals. His workshop opened a gateway into graffiti, where the wall became both a mirror of the soul and a stage for stories. Inspired by the padel court floor he designed in Doha @padelfip , the mural — 270 × 135 cm — became a collective arena of free expression, where brushstrokes blended with laughter and colors turned into a visual symphony of individuality. It was more than a mural; it was a celebration of courage, freedom, and the power of art to empower and inspire. Thank you, Mr. D, for moments that will remain forever in the hearts of Al Shafallah Center’s members — a graffiti poem without boundaries.
Sébastien Boileau (Mr. D)
