Photo dump 1 from the weekend.

Hospitality Weekender was a real one! Met some wonderful people, not all are here. @dnbfamily174 out in full force. What an unforgettable weekend! To those I tagged, thanks for letting me bother you at some point this weekend! taken in Butlins, Bognor Regis by @mrfnrayner

What could have the birthday from hell turned into the most positive thing that has happened in a very long time.

On the morning of my 40th birthday, I got a call from my wife and sisters telling me my mum passed away less than 24 hours after a cancer diagnosis less than 7 hours after getting back from @andyc_ramagram at Drumsheds. If it wasn't for a lot of people (and especially one in particular) I'd have been distraught, but he deserves special honours so I'll mention him later...

Cue one of the best parties I've ever been to - @planetvmusic @djmarkym & Friends and @flexoutaudio at @fabriclondonofficial , a meet up and a beer with @ytimid @factionone and @benxo , roast dinner with @philthdj_ , @ellasoppsinger and family, a chance meeting with @chimpomcr and some strategically placed fine Scotch. Part of me wishes everything went to plan and myself and my G went back to Ireland to hang out at home, make some tunes and have a mix, but sometimes things just don't go to plan. Still got in a mix though!

The man in question? @brady_xk - a guy who 3.5 years ago was a random on Twitch during covid turned into one of the absolute best friends ever and someone who has become such an integral part of my daily life. Someone who I wish lived closer than the fucking PNW but someone who has cemented themselves as a lifelong friend and who I'll dearly miss in person til the next time we meet.

It's been a fucking special one, tha ks to everyone who kept me from the depths of despair this week (especially those who are tagged), and it's been special. You made this birthday the absolute best so far, in spite of everything that could have made it miserable. You realise you've all made it into the special memories that I'll cherish forever.

The Drum and Bass community is, has and always will be special to me.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart, and so many thanks to Brady. I love you man! ❤️ by @mrfnrayner

So here it is, in its (nearly complete state.

Big shouts to the Father-in-law for power tools and woodwork skills, the panels would have NEVER gone up without your help! Shouts also go to Leon @rechargeaudio for the tons of advice on the technical side (BTW if you need mixing, mastering, or recording doing, check him out!), @amoss___ and @texelquadrant for their nuggets of advice too, and @brady_xk @thystleuk @k2t_karan and anyone else who has put up with my overexcitement about getting it done.

This has been a ride and a half, just happy to have a studio that doesn't sound like an empty club!

If you want to see a studio tour when everything is set up fully, tell me in the comments. I'm ready to get to work now!

Yesterday's progress... all frames built and covered, 2 panels installed, makeshift bass traps placed.

Shouts to the Father-in-law for hus skills and power tools, here's hoping tomorrow means all treatment is installed and the studio can be rebuilt!

After that it's time to make some noise!

Major life update pt2

2 weeks after moving into our glorious new house, a new baby boy arrived in our lives!

Our little lad Reilly Réalta Séan Rayner came into the world, and we couldn't be happier!

We are keeping his picture and himself off socials as much as possible, hence no photos. As you can see by the music in the car, he is being educated properly with @ed_rush & @matt.optical - Wormhole and @data_3 - Matter on @flexoutaudio as well as @polabryson - Beneath The Sirface in @shogun_audio

Also, I couldn't resist buying him a pair of Nike Force Ones. by @mrfnrayner

Major life event pt1 - New house!

Myself and Mrs. Rayner managed to find and buy our forever home. Going from a small townhouse to a nice big bungalow in the country has made a big difference - out the noise and frustrations of city life and into the calming arms of nature.

Glad to finally be in, mostly unpacked and just enjoying everything. by @mrfnrayner
