@craigdavid you were incredible last night — it meant so much for my mum and aunt to see you again, and such a special moment to share together ✨Myself and my pug crew were actually supposed to meet you @standoncalling back in 2022 — they’d even arranged a meet and greet with some very special pugs! Sadly, it got cancelled due to severe weather. My mum even had outfits made for us inspired by your 2022 concerts! I’ll always be my mama’s boy. And in every lifetime, I’d choose her to be my mum all over again. Some people get a mother. I got a warrior! ❤️A few things about my mum you might not know:At 21 she was diagnosed with SLE Lupus. Chemo. Blood and platelet transfusions. 198 consecutive days in hospital. She even had to relearn how to walk.Her whole life changed. Most people would’ve been broken by that. Not her.She’s an adrenaline junkie — skydiving from 20,000ft over the glaciers of Franz Josef, New Zealand. Still one of the greatest highs of her life… and she’d do it again tomorrow.You’ll recognise her by the bright trouser suits and perfect red nails — immaculate, always.She swears like a sailor. Has absolutely no filter. Says what everyone else is thinking. And when she’s quiet… her face says it anyway.She’s an IVF dropout. Yes, she was blessed with me — but there’s still pain. Milestones she never got to have. Dreams that infertility took away. It’s 2026 and infertility is still stigmatised. Childless women are still treated like garbage.She’s brutally honest, fiercely loyal, and will stand her ground on anything that matters to her - no backing down, ever. Forgive? Maybe. Forget? Never.She’s scary. She’s crazy. Her intuition is her superpower and terrifyingly accurate — never lie to her, because she will find out.Her giggles can be heard from miles away (some call it a witch laugh).And then there’s me — the apple of her eye. She’s super strict… but let’s be honest, I’ve got her wrapped around my paws.My biggest cheerleader. Not doggy related but I believe no matter the industry, experience level, or stage of success, the same three mental barriers show up again and again:• Having confidence but lacking true self-confidence • Imposter syndrome and negative self-talk • Performance declining under pressureSo many women we see every day are capable, driven and ambitious.From the outside, it often looks like we have it all together.But internally, the conversation can sound very different:“Am I good enough?” “What if people find out I don’t belong here?” “Am I ready for this next step?”The truth is, while there will always be things outside our control: markets, opportunities, people, timing - the one thing we do have control over is ourselves.Our mindset. Our habits. Our standards. Our character.Mental fitness is about building the internal strength to navigate those moments. To move forward despite doubt. To set meaningful goals and become the person capable of achieving them.That’s exactly what my mother had the pleasure of exploring at the Mental Fitness Live Event with @maya.mental.fitness and Female Founders Rise, led by @emmiefaust. She said it was an incredibly insightful afternoon and came away feeling really inspired ❤️A room full of ambitious women. Honest conversations about the challenges we face.
