Dear Mae Mae,
Thank you for giving me all of this time to spend with you. You will always be here. It makes my heart ache that you’re gone psychically, but I know you weren’t feeling good. Thank you for making this house feel like a home. You were my safe space. You were so smart and had such a great personality. Funnier than ever. I remember when you were younger how you would love to play fetch with me. Every single box or bag I open you jump right in it. When I open my closet you meow at me so loud because you want to be put on the shelf. You loved your baskets. Loved to lay on the towels in the closet. Any time I made my bed you’d get aggressive because you loved the warm and clean sheets. Any time I open a bag of chips now I’m going to think you’re trying to get some. Every time I get out of the shower I’m going to think you will be there waiting for me outside the door. The way you’d knock on doors if they were closed just for me to open them and you not go in. You’d rub your head on something, actually BANG your head especially on the stair railings. You loved your belly & back rubs. You chased your tail so much. You loved it when I sang to you, you loved music. You loved sitting with me on the patio, and would scream at me to carry you outside. You loved watching tv with me and iPad time. You would lay with me when I cried. You were there for me for all of my accomplishments in life. You were there through my worsts. You were my emotional support. It’s going to be very weird not having you around anymore. I will cherish every moment & many more I had with you forever. I watched you go, and I hope you looking at me and hearing my voice made you feel safe. You’re a good boy Mason. I chose your last snack to be goldfish because you went crazy for those and I shared our last snack together with you. You are my soul kitty, my first kitty, the best kitty. I’m going to miss your different meows for your different moods, and your purr. Thank you for helping me get through life. I hope I was able to make your life feel just as special as you made mine.
