Our fourth performance of the Drake Music Artist Showcase, coming courtesy of...

🎱 Ant Lightfoot (he/they) 🎱

A neuroqueer artist based in Bristol, and a polymath at heart, it’s difficult to narrow Ant down to one genre.

He tiptoes across forms, incorporating rhymes, comedy and philosophy into his solo hip-hop and rhyme-based work, as well as making guttural noises and screaming for metal.

Ant’s work is wobbly, messy, experimental, alternative, risky, funny,
endearing, silly, philosophical, witty, riddled with failure, loudly imperfect, loudly loud, and unapologetically authentic.

Ant believes strongly in making work that is loudly imperfect, embraces failure, and is heavily invested in the liveness between performer and audience.

“GREY HAIRS, TRUTHS” is out on all the streamy servs- let me know what you think :-)

Ant has their dark hair pushed back (reference) with sunglasses, is heavily tattooed and has a dark moustache. Slide 2 The artwork for Ant’s new single: “GREY HAIRS, TRUTHS” - it’s a close-up of some of Ant’s hair, showing the spatters of white and grey within the dark fibres. ID Ant and Morgaine are best friends. Ant and Morgaine are soulmates. We see them on a printed out polaroid that Ant placed on Morgaine’s bright pink bedding. Ant and Morgaine are white people. In the photo they’re snuggled up, and Ant has his eyes closed with a huge smile. He’s very happy. Ant has dark floofy, quaffed hair and a dark beard / moustache combo. They’re wearing a black hoody with little white sharks on it. Loved that thing. Didn’t fit well, mind. Morgaine is behind Ant, leaning forward, i think the two are cheek to cheek a bit. I believe Ant was sitting on the floor, leaning back onto the bed and Morgaine is lying on her side on the bed. Morgaine has a big, cheesy Cheshire cat grin. She’s happy, too. She has long dark hair with blonde ombré i think it’s called- where the ends are blonde? its up in a bun. it was so so long then. And her baggy grey hoody she’d always let ant wear bc he loved her clothes more than his own bc they gave him gender euphoria in a way he couldn’t ever explain and they smelled of her.
