Never in my 37 years of life would I have imagined this. I was always the shy kid who chose to sit at the back of the class in my younger days, many times trying to be as invisible as possible.

I’ve come a long way. Through hard work, determination and perseverance. The road has not been easy but the journey is not yet over.

This is not a thirst-trap. Rather, would like to dedicate this post to everyone working on being the best version of themselves each day - physically, mentally, emotionally.

It’s often easy to take notice of one’s outer appearance. To me, inner beauty is the sexiest and carries invaluable weight. What is a hot bod if he does not embody good values and an upright character? If he is not kind and compassionate? Reliable and a pillar of support?

Would like to champion inner beauty over outer appearance - they stand the test of time. I’m working on this everyday - dare say that this is much tougher than hitting the gym!

Would like to thank the person who encouraged me to do this shoot (#iykyk), as well as my trainer (and friend) for rooting for me.

If you share my values and vision, let’s stay strong and look out for one another. We’ve got this 💪🏻❤️

One of the best meals I’ve had in Taipei.

Every dish was complex in flavours and texture, combining Japanese and Taiwanese elements seamlessly together in perfect harmony.

Easter Brunch that filled the heart and tummy 😋

Aqua’s all-you-can-eat brunch menu was well curated with every dish bringing its own palette of flavours.

Coupled with the panoramic views from the seats by the window, even a rainy afternoon would not dampen the spirits 😍

Masterchef @the.rek has once again outdone himself!
Marrying Japanese cuisine with South East Asian flavours - every dish was intricately put together after hours of preparation 🙏🏻

The beignet Mushroom Ball for example looked so … innocent and simple, but it took 6 types of mushrooms and 6 hours to create. One can’t help but feel guilty when each ball was finished under a minute 😅

His Unagi was soft and tender, coated with garlic and spices which packed each bite with myriad flavours.

The Red Snapper spoke to my Peranakan taste buds with the accompanying white curry and beautifully layered grilled cabbage painted with laksa leaf.

Another highlight is the BBQ Aged Duck. Musculine in flavour yet feminine in bite. So succulent your lips cannot stop pecking at it.

Dessert - Rice, on rice. Paying homage to his roots. A delicately (not too) sweet ending leaving one craving for more 😋

Yummy find in Hong Kong 🇭🇰

The Typhoon Shelter Local Lobster Thermidor, Abalone Porridge and Whole Smoke Pigeon were the stars of the night for me! 🌟

Like how the place has a cheeky drinks menu based on your MBTI personality result 😆 One can always be schizo and order the direct opposite!

Monday night｜What a way to start the week!

Finally managed to try @benfatto_95’s awesome handmade pasta at this pop-up! Sitting by the counter and watching Chef YW’s hands do the magic was a visual feast in itself.

Each pasta carefully hand twirled, wrapped and kneaded. Topped with a good balance of sauce and broth 🥰😋 My favourite of the night was his Busiate 👍🏻👍🏻

Coupled with 6 glasses of wine pairing (not including the welcome drink - negroni and sake shots at the end) 🤪

Best pasta around! For those wanting to try Chef’s pasta at his residence, the queue is until 1.5 years later 🙈 taken in Ben Fatto 95 by @mrkhookiemonster

Best meal in Hanoi ⭐️
Hanoi = inside the river

Progressive Vietnamese cuisine! Chef @_samilicious uses fresh local produce/ingredients in innovative ways to conjure up a modern take on traditional Vietnamese food eaten through the festivities and seasons.

Coupled with storytelling written on the menu card in the shape of a green house (reflecting the house Gia is currently nesting in), dark ambience and personable service, the overall experience leaves one intrigued as the dishes are being served.

@gia.hanoi manages to retain the authentic taste of the various ingredients, even though some might be of an acquired taste. Yet the contemporary reimagining of these local dishes is worth savouring every last bit.

After all the main courses are done, one gets invited into the kitchen to meet Chef and her team who greets you with the warmest Xin Chao - a very nice touch!

Desserts are then enjoyed downstairs in a relaxed setting - all very yummy and invokes a sense of nostalgia. A perfect ending.
