Since April, most of the day I’m usually with my kid. Pearl does the mornings and the evenings and takes care of most of the food prep. I’m with my kid for most of the “normal” work day hours. This is the first trip where I can let go during the day in 6 months. I’m working during daylight hours on this trip. Stopping to make some food and make sure he’s fed but other than that…I feel like I’m on vacation…(and I’m working all day lol) I forgot how sweet it is not to work till midnight. And it’s PEAK fall which makes the days sweeter here. by @mrledell

For about 10 years after we all graduated college, we would get together at a friends small lake cabin in upstate New York… It was a tradition we called “national Jet Ski month“ as a joke because we had access to a Jet Ski. Some of us would sleep on the living room floor. Some of us on random couches. If you were lucky you got a bedroom. If you were really lucky, brought a sleeping bag and slept on the trampoline under the stars. We would play random games and throw rocks at the metal buoy from the beach for hours. Stay up all night dancing and performing music in the garage. I played my first rap show here to a group of friends. This was before social media and smart phones took a hold of our lives. This was the last era of feeling free and connected to our actual friends. A lot of us ended up moving far away and having kids… Making new friends and new traditions…Something about this pocket of time makes me so grateful to have experienced it. 🥺 by @mrledell
