It’s birthday time:

On the 29th March 1974, the first ever Golf rolled off the production line. Happy 50th birthday to the Volkswagen Golf 🎉🥳🎂 This week was new car week for me, and my love of #volkswagen #golf continues ..This one is an Anniversary Car which always makes it a bit special … with 333 PS, Akrapovic Exhaust, Nurburgring and Drift mode what’s not to like about The Golf R 20 Years - I love it 💙 #golf50 #vwgolf50thanniversary #vwgolf #vw #golfr20 #hothatch taken in Poole, Dorset by @mrobertshaw

A Mk8 Performance Golf was missing from my collection … I’ve had GTis or R models from 1 to 7 until now! I’m going to enjoy this one 💙

#fit #anniversary Exactly 2 years ago… Broken heel, snapped Achilles.. Realised I wasn’t Peter Pan after all.. Made a choice to get fit at 50 and stuck with it … photo on right today… proving that you can still have a few pints and a burger at lunchtime and be fit and healthy…. #getfit #fit #fitnessjourney #weightloss #gym #fitfam #fitnessmotivation #consistency #eathealthy #enjoylife #drink #cider #eat #burgers #fun #strong taken in Taunton, Somerset by @mrobertshaw

So long little hot hatch .. I’m going to miss you popping and banging … this was one fun car. 300ps 4WD in a tiny shell makes you feel alive! And those Akrapovic exhausts …. 🎉💥😜 #volkswagen #300ps #akrapovic #fun #car #fastcar #popsandbangs #T-RokR #vw #vwtroc #hothatch by @mrobertshaw

And just like that 160kg came off the floor and didn’t stop … I’ve been trying to lift this for what seemed like ages… Focused on form, felt strong, concentrated on the words of @funkydbmtb going round in my head .. and lifted 190% of me! Another step on the road to 200% but this one felt like a leap! #lift #liftheavy #weightlifting #deadlift #strong #menwholift #gym #gym-motivation #gymlife #gymlover #fitness #fitnessjourney #fitfam #fitmen #oldbutgold #oldbutstrong #goals #achieve #focus #fun #weekend #50andfit #160kg #instafit #ageisjustanumber #stregnthtraining #goals taken in Taunton, Somerset by @mrobertshaw
