They booked a logo. They did not expect this.

Visconti came to me with a vision. An equestrian and show jumping brand built for performing. A brand that needed to attract new riders, stand out in the equestrian world, and carry the weight of everything they are building.

So we did not just design a logo. We built an entire identity from the ground up.

Full brand identity. Logo design. Riding kit and uniform design. Social media templates. The full works.

Every single touchpoint designed to make Visconti look and feel like the premium equestrian brand they are becoming.
This is what happens when a brand gets taken seriously from day one.

I started this account to showcase my creativity and break free from being pigeonholed. I desired the freedom to design without limits. Through doing this learnt to never let anyone define who you are as a creative.

While creating this video, I reflected on my growth in logo design.

After 11 months of sharing content and years spent honing my skills, my mission remains unchanged: to craft gob-smacking “offbeat” logos.

I'm truly grateful for all your support and still in awe. My favourite quote is “The best way to predict the future is to create it”, and so on that note, I’ll see you same time next year! 😁👌🏾

This Adobe Photoshop beta feature is genuinely bonkers.

Relighting an image used to be one of the most tedious parts of post production. Layers on layers. Colour overlays. Masking. Hours of manual work just to shift the lighting mood of a single shot.

Now in Adobe Photoshop beta you can relight an entire image with a few clicks.

Think about what this means on a shoot. You capture the image, then afterwards decide you want to experiment with a completely different lighting direction or mood. No reshoot. No painstaking manual rebuild. Just relight it directly inside Adobe Photoshop and explore as many creative directions as you want.

This opens up so much more room for creativity after the fact. You are no longer locked into the lighting decisions made on the day of the shoot.

Adobe needs to bring this to the main version of Adobe Photoshop as soon as possible. This is one of those features that changes the entire creative process once people get their hands on it properly.

Go try it in the beta and let me know what you think in the comments.

If you keep attracting the same type of clients you do not want, look at your portfolio before you look anywhere else.

Your portfolio is not a diary of everything you have ever worked on. It is an advert. And whatever you put in it is exactly what you are going to attract more of.

Want to work with health brands? Show health brand work. Want to land ten thousand pound projects? Show ten thousand pound worthy projects. Your portfolio needs to reflect the clients and the level of work you actually want to be doing, not just a record of everything you have been doing.

This is bigger than just the visuals too. If you want to charge more and be seen as an expert rather than just someone who makes logos, your portfolio needs to portray that. It needs to position you as a problem solver. As someone who understands business, not just design.

Clients see proof of concept in your portfolio before they ever speak to you. If they see you have solved this exact problem before for someone in their industry, choosing you becomes a no brainer.

Let your work speak for itself. But make sure it is saying the right thing.

Stop making your life difficult.

Want to create better logo mockups for your brand identity projects?

Here’s how I use Adobe Firefly to turn logos I’ve already designed into custom brand mockups, from storefront signage and clothing labels to metal badges, wax seals and 3D logo applications.

The process is pretty simple:

Upload your logo into Adobe Firefly Boards, describe the mockup you want to create, specify the materials, environment, lighting and camera style, then tell Firefly to preserve the original logo design.

The key is in the prompt.

Instead of writing:
“Put my logo on a shop sign.”

Describe the material, setting, lighting, perspective and photography style you actually want.

I’ve included 7 Adobe Firefly prompts in this carousel that you can save and adapt for your own logo designs and brand identity projects.

Try them with your own work and experiment with Adobe Firefly at firefly.adobe.com

Which logo mockup are you trying first?

Most designers manually copy, resize, and reposition objects to create that perspective illusion. There is a much faster way.

If you have ever needed a line of trees, lampposts, or repeating objects that gradually decrease in size to create the illusion of depth and distance, this Adobe Illustrator trick is exactly what you need.

Head to Effects, then Transform. You can duplicate an object and automatically move, scale, and rotate each copy incrementally in one go. Adobe Illustrator handles all the repetitive resizing and repositioning for you and creates that perspective effect instantly.

No more copying and pasting the same object over and over adjusting the size and position manually every single time.

This is one of those Adobe Illustrator tips and tricks that completely changes how you approach anything involving repetition and perspective. Illustration work, environmental design, pattern creation, all of it becomes so much faster.

Go try it and let me know what you think in the comments.

They asked for a logo. I gave them...

This is The Wicktionary. A literary candle brand that pairs rare and expressive dictionary words with curated scents. And that pairing is one of my favourite things about the whole brand. A word and a scent, married together. It is such a beautiful idea and it needed a logo that could carry it.

The old logo was outdated and no longer fit where the brand was heading. They were evolving from being just a candle brand into a full scent brand. Still doing candles, but growing beyond them. So the new logo had to be timeless and flexible enough to grow with them without boxing them into one product.

From there we built the full system. Packaging design. Label design. Social system. And a brand that comes together as one cohesive world.

Really enjoyed working on this one.

What do you think of the transformation?

If you are already sketching before you understand the problem, you are designing in circles before you have even started.

I get it. The client is excited. You are excited. Ideas are already forming in your head and it feels natural to just start putting pen to paper.

But design is the last thing you do. Not the first.

Before a single sketch happens you need to know who you are actually designing for. What problem this brand is trying to solve. What perception needs to shift. What the client actually needs to communicate before you decide how it should look.

Skip that step and you end up guessing. You present something, the client is not sure why they do not like it, you go back and revise, and now you are stuck in endless rounds because neither of you actually agreed on what the work needed to achieve in the first place.

Strategy first. Design second. Every single time.

Stop making your life difficult.

Oh my gosh I learnt this trick from @barnardco and it changed my life.

If you have ever been staring at your Adobe Photoshop layers panel trying to figure out what is actually inside each layer because the thumbnails are so tiny you already know how annoying this is. Especially when nothing is named yet and you are just clicking blindly hoping you got the right one.

This fixes that completely.

Head to the little menu in the top right of your layers panel in Adobe Photoshop. Select Panel Options. Change your thumbnail contents to Layer Bounds. Press OK.

Instantly your thumbnails become massive and you can actually see what is inside every single layer without guessing.

Such a simple Adobe Photoshop tip but genuinely one of those things that makes your whole workflow smoother. Massive credit to James Barnard for putting me onto this one. Go give him a follow, he shares brilliant Adobe Photoshop tips and tricks constantly.

Go try it and let me know in the comments.

Excited to finally show this one properly.

This is Gamma. A gender affirmation clinic doing genuinely important and meaningful work. And this project meant a lot to me.

The Gamma symbol has been used so many times across so many contexts. Everyone has seen a version of it before. So the challenge was real from the start. How do you take something that visible and turn it into something that feels fresh, considered, and completely ownable for this specific brand?

It looks like a simple mark. It was not a simple process.

We went through multiple rounds before landing on this. Different directions, different refinements, a lot of back and forth until it felt right. Not just visually clean but genuinely representative of what Gamma stands for. Professional. Warm. Built to last.

That is the thing about a strong logo. The simplicity you see at the end usually hides the most work.

This is one of those projects I am genuinely proud of. Really loved working on this one.

What do you think of the branding?

If you sent a logo option you did not believe in and the client picked it, that is on you.

Why did you send it?

This is something I see all the time. Designers sending six, seven, eight logo options just to look like they have done a lot of work. Filling up space with concepts they are not actually happy with just to pad out the presentation.

And then the client picks the one you hate. And you are surprised.

I send three. Three strong logo options that I genuinely believe in. Three directions that I would be proud to put my name on. Nothing more.

Because presenting a logo option you are not confident in is not giving your client more choice. It is giving them the opportunity to make the wrong decision. And you put that option in front of them.

Quality over quantity every single time. Send your strongest work. Only your strongest work.

Stop making your life difficult.
