Photography came first. The mission was to be touring with eastcoast hiphop artist by documenting the culture. 😆

But that changed when I became a dad.

After having my 2nd child being away in LA stopped feeling worth it. I wanted to be present by taking my kids to school, coming home to them and being in Orange County PERIOD.

After leaving the agency I saw content differently and wanted to shift into a different industry, nothing close to what I filmed under the agency.

A friend asked if I could film his wife’s dayspa and everything shifted. The response was natural people connected with the content differently. That was a lightbulb moment.

After filming so many different industries, beauty and aesthetics was the first space where the visuals education and details all connected well with the audience.

I wasn’t the one being proposed and I got teary while filming lmaoo. Her excitement and shock was so awesome to capture and seeing it all fall into place from visiting the location with my buddy Ivan to the actual day of.

🎥 This project was turned in color but for those who have been following me for the past 10 years on here know I love me some Black and white so I had to give that bliss touch.

🗣️Get out of your head and just start. Waiting for the day or only doing it on the days you feel like it? You’re only holding yourself back.

🗣️Testimonials are not just needed in the beauty industry but for any business that’s a product or a service. But a lot of solo practitioners and med spas keep posting before and after with pure text, no motion, no voice from the client. That becomes dry and boring. When I know they have at least five or even more repeating clients that they could put in front of the camera.

♦️If it’s not a carousel being informative, giving brief pieces of messages on each slide then you’re stuck in 2005 2008 when posting photos would give you high reach.

♦️Don’t be shy to ask your repeating client for a testimonial. You want to document her experience from the treatment to her stay there at your business and if she would recommend it to anybody.

🗣️My solo practitioner client going over her patients return of Hormanal Acne during her 2nd pregnancy.

All the queens in the beauty industry listen up.
If you’re relying on a photo before and after with just text over it. Twist your fingers harder because that works to a certain extent.

Majority of ppl skip , BUT reading because much more fun when their hearing and visually see what the visit was about.

Just like when we were kids and the librarian would read the book but face the book towards our direction to keep us entertained!

🗣️Most people walk into a med spa already knowing what they want.
A treatment they saw online, a before and after, or something that worked for someone else.

But skin doesn’t work that way.

A proper consultation looks at your skin’s history, its current condition, patterns, sensitivity, breakouts, texture, and even what your skin can realistically tolerate right now. Two people can ask for the exact same treatment and still need completely different approaches or be advised to wait altogether.

That’s why consultations exist.
Not to upsell, but to protect your skin and guide you correctly.

Great results don’t come from copying trends.
They come from expertise, evaluation, and honest guidance.
