We are breaking down The Craft movie, the 90s cult classics staple that still holds a weirdly specific place in our collective memory.

It is wild to look back at the casting of these iconic 90s teen movies now that we are older. While the characters were supposed to be high schoolers, the actors were actually well into their 20s during filming, with one actress even being 29 years old at the time. It completely changes how you view those high school hallways, right?

Beyond the casting choices, the production was just as intense as the story itself. Did you know they actually used 3,000 snakes on set? We are covering all the behind the scenes facts that made this production stand out from everything else coming out of the decade. It is a fascinating look at how Hollywood put together these supernatural hits before the age of CGI saturation.

What is your favorite memory of watching this one growing up? Let me know down in the comments below! Subscribe for more looks at retro cinema and movie oddities. #90sMovies #HalloweenMovies #TheCraft by @mrretrotroll

Today marks 41 years since Nintendo released the NES in New York City as a test market on Oct 18, 1985.

After the crash killed video games, Nintendo rebranded it as the Nintendo Entertainment System with R.O.B. and the Zapper and bet it all on NYC with 17 games including Super Mario Bros NES .

That test saved the entire industry. Were you part of the NYC test market, and what’s your fondest NES memory - blowing in the cartridge? Let me know below!

Halloweentown is a classic piece of 90s nostalgia, but did you know the script originally had a much darker tone? We are breaking down the production history of this Disney Channel favorite.

Before it became the beloved film we grew up with, the project was shopped around to other networks. NBC actually had the script first but decided to pass, leaving the door open for Disney to step in. It is wild to think about how different the final product could have been if it had stayed in its original darker form. We examine how the studio ultimately produced the movie on a 4 million dollar budget, turning it into the spooky season staple it is today.

It is fascinating to see how these production choices shape the media we remember so fondly. When you look back at your favorite movies from the 90s, do you prefer the darker original concepts or the final versions that made it to air? Let me know your thoughts down in the comments below!

I went to AMC to see the New Street Fighter Movie and had to get the Guile Popcorn Bucket.

If you grew up in the 80s and 90s dropping quarters at the arcade and mashing sonic boom on SNES and Genesis, JP and I know you felt this one. That flat-top, the theme music, picking Guile just to cheese your cousin — this bucket brought it all back.

Let me know down in the comments below — who was your main back in the day and what’s your fondest memory of Street Fighter? Peace out and have a great one!

Today marks Day 16 of 31 Days of Halloween with Trick ‘r Treat from 2007! We are breaking down the production history of this cult classic.

This anthology movie started its life as a 3-minute short film titled Season’s Greetings back in 1996. It is fascinating to see how the director expanded those original ideas into a full-length feature that has become a staple of the spooky season. We also discuss the production choice to avoid using real pumpkins, opting for props instead, and the creepy detail behind the 8 locks for 8 victims.

Whether you are a fan of modern horror movies or just enjoy a good anthology, there is a lot of history to unpack here. We examine why this film maintains such a strong legacy among fans of Halloween movies. If you appreciate the craft behind your favorite horror cinema, this look at the film’s origins is for you.

What is your favorite style of pumpkin to carve out there? Tell me below! Subscribe for more looks at retro cinema and oddities.

Is the new Street Fighter movie actually good? We are breaking down the latest film and looking at the fan event swag.

We picked up some cool gear, including an AMC cup and a promotional poster, but the art on that poster left us scratching our heads. It features a wide cast of characters, yet somehow manages to completely omit Dan Hibiki. It is a strange choice for a Street Fighter movie celebration and one that has us questioning the marketing focus.

Whether you are a die-hard fan of 90s nostalgia or just curious about how this modern take compares to the classic retrogaming era, this look at the movie merchandise captures a piece of the experience. It is always interesting to see how these big franchise releases handle their legacy characters.

Did you grab any of the special event gear, or did you notice the missing characters on the poster? Let me know in the comments below! Subscribe for more looks at retro culture and movie oddities.
