Thank you to every person who called, texted, posted, sent a message, or took a minute to make me feel loved on my birthday. I don’t take any of it lightly!
One of the greatest gifts of this season of my life is the depth of the relationships around me. Not just people I know, but people who really know me, show up for me, celebrate with me, challenge me, and love me well. I’m incredibly grateful for the kind of friendships and relationships that have been built over years, through real life, real conversations, and a whole lot of growing.
And to the people who somehow pulled off a surprise party and loved on me so intentionally! You completely and utterly GET me! 🥹 I felt every bit of it.
I’ve heard people dread turning 40, but I don’t! I feel grateful to be here. Grateful for who I’ve become, grateful for the people I get to do life with, and really excited about what’s ahead.

30 days ago I committed to walking one mile outside every single day, no headphones, and documenting it for accountability.

The easy days have taught me to slow down, think, pray and actually notice what’s around me. The hard days have taught me that I don’t have to feel like doing something to still do it.

Turns out a mile isn’t really that far, but doing it every single day can teach you a lot about yourself.

My coach @mrs.ryan.allen is a baddie and partnered the success of the @10yearletter 🧡🎉

For the past few years I’ve been incredibly blessed to be coached my Ryan ever single week! The last few years she’s been working directly with the author @craig.zuber as he put his life changing experience into a process that others can implement.

Apparently, I’ve always been willing to smile big… even when I didn’t have all the teeth required to do it. 😂

And can we please take a moment for this outfit?

The purple turtleneck.
The matching purple sleeves.
The giant black belt.
The tiny watch.
And the bangs my grandma apparently looked at and thought, “These need more curl.”

She was wrong. Very wrong.

I look at this little girl and wonder what she believed her life would look like 10 years later. Did she imagine the family, the career, the hard seasons, the healing, the adventures, or the purpose she would eventually step into?

Probably not.

She was mostly focused on growing in those front teeth, surviving the curled-bang situation, and making sure her purple turtleneck matched her watch.

But that’s what I love about the 10 Year Letter. It gives us a chance to pause and picture the person we’re becoming before we have all the answers….or all the pieces.

Your future doesn’t have to be perfectly clear for you to begin authoring it.

Sometimes, you just need a vision, a little courage, and the confidence of a toothless second grader in a purple turtleneck with bangs that deserved their own apology. 💜
