The best decision I ever took is to stop caring what people think, especially the ones who are never there for me. I noticed on myself that I don't just walk and talk differently, but I also dress differently. I am more free and more enthusiastic about my outfits, which in return empowers me and gives me even more confidence. Real confidence, that is not loud. I share my take on how an inherited culture, a lived experience and travelling impacts fashion. I love to travel, and I have moved to 6 different countries over the last 15 years. Both of which taught me so much about fashion, and how people dress in different parts of the world. Naturally I fell in love with different ways of styling, fabric selections, patterns, silhouettes and symbolism. I miss to see fashion content that incorporates traditional wear and symbolism into modern dressing. Countries and people loose their culture when they start treating it as a strict "this is how is traditionally worn", and stop reinventing, adding to it, adapting it to everyday life. In my styling you will often see cultural hints or colour schemes honoring heritage. Something I have not seen online, so I hope to pave the way and bring in a thoughtful perspective to this space. Share this post. Save it for later, and follow along on my journey! About the outfits: 1. The red dress with the petticoat resembles Hungarian folk dancing skirts, while the top part is a very modern, corset style cut. The hairbow is a very Japanese fashion style (I bought it there), you see people wear it on a daily basis with half updos. 2. The blue 2 piece set is an Australian brand and completely modern silhouette. The hat and the navy colouring is a homage to the scandinavian nautical culture. The red earrings remind me of Hungarian embroidery flowers. 3. Butteryellow dress is a recent trend.
