I don’t even know how to put into words what it feels like to say goodbye to you.

You weren’t just my mother-in-law. You were family in every sense of the word. You were someone I could count on, someone who loved us so deeply, and someone who became such an important part of my life.

You met Camila when she was just 4 years old, and from that moment on, you loved her like she was your own. You welcomed her into your heart and our family without hesitation. ❤️

And then came Luca. You took care of him every single day and became such a huge part of his little world. You loved being his grandma and the bond the two of you shared was so incredibly special. I will forever be grateful that he got to have you there. ❤️

You were simply the best. The kind of person whose absence will be felt in a million little moments in the things we want to tell you, the memories we’ll wish we could make with you, and especially in watching our children grow up without you here to see it.

I never imagined that our ordinary days would suddenly become memories. I wish we had more time. I wish I could tell you one more time how much you meant to me and how grateful I am for everything you did for our family.

Thank you for 13 years of love, laughter, and memories. Thank you for being the best mother-in-law, the best grandma, and such an important part of our family.

We will carry you with us in everything we do. And I promise, our children will always know just how incredibly loved they were by you.

2004, I wore out the Evanescence CD my mom bought me, and sang every word.

2012, I saw Evanescence with my sister while Camila was only 3 years old.
