Almost one month in our new home. We are so grateful for all the beautifully thoughtful cards, gifts and visits from our loved ones. Ernie is very happy and has made sure his new neighbours know he is here and is the king of the crop ❤️ by @mrsbarr88

17 months, countless ups and downs, and we’re finally here. 🏡🤍

We’re officially home. Our very own little place to make memories, build a life and watch Ernie grow. 🐾

After such a long wait, it honestly feels surreal to finally be able to say we’re home. And I couldn’t be prouder of Aaron. ❤️ He has worked so incredibly hard to make this happen, putting so much time, love and effort into building the future we’ve always dreamed of. Watching all of that hard work finally pay off makes me so proud of him.

Here’s to new beginnings, making this house ours, and hopefully one day filling it with the dream family we’ve always wished for. 🤍

Before I start, I just want to say this isn’t a sympathy post. We’re sharing our journey because I think it’s important to bring awareness to a side of IVF that isn’t talked about nearly enough.

Everyone rightly speaks about what women go through physically and emotionally, but we rarely hear about the men. Their hearts break too. They carry the same hopes, the same fears, and the same grief, often in silence because they feel they have to be the strong one.

We’ve experienced the heartbreak of miscarriage, three failed embryo transfers, and now we’re preparing for another egg retrieval. It has been one of the hardest chapters of our lives, but through every injection, every appointment, every phone call, every negative test, every tear and every moment of doubt, one person has never left my side.

Aaron, I am so incredibly proud of you.

Thank you for loving me when I struggled to love myself. Thank you for holding me together on the days I felt like I was falling apart. Thank you for giving me hope when mine was fading, for carrying your own heartbreak so quietly while making sure I never had to carry mine alone.

People see me going through the treatment, but they don’t always see what you go through behind the scenes. The worry. The helplessness. The disappointment. The pressure to stay strong when your own heart is breaking.

You have been my rock through every high and every devastating low. This journey has shown me that being a father starts long before a baby arrives. It starts with unconditional love, unwavering support, endless patience, and never giving up on the dream of becoming parents.

I don’t know what our next chapter holds as we begin another egg retrieval, but I do know one thing with absolute certainty: if our future child is anything like you, they will be the luckiest little person in the world.

This isn’t just my journey. It’s ours. And I hope that by sharing it, more people realise that IVF affects both partners. Men hurt too. Men grieve too. And their stories deserve to be heard just as much.
