This extraordinary 2.01 ct Modern Antique Elongated Cushion natural diamond inspired the Aeterna ring, a custom commission that remains one of my favourite designs.

It’s May, Emerald month — and this is overdue.

A couple years ago, I designed this custom toi et moi ring featuring a Colombian emerald. For this piece, the origin felt especially fitting. The ring was created for a Colombian wearer. 💚

“Toi et moi” translates to “you and I” — two stones, two stories, brought together in one piece.

Emeralds aren’t usually my first recommendation for an engagement ring, so the setting was designed with longevity in mind.

A protective half bezel along the outer edge offers added security, while the open inner side preserves the emerald’s brightness and elegance.

Just look at the way it glows in the sunlight at the end. 🥲

When you want something out of the ordinary... Choose a @misfitdiamonds stone. This exclusive collection is available at @hnfjewellery.

When conceptualising these pieces, we hand selected each stone for their unique qualities. Three carat beauties from Sri Lanka. Elongated step cut champagne diamonds from the Cullinan Mine in South Africa. Canadian diamond accents. You get the idea. All natural, all one of a kind.

Then, we designed timeless settings around each stone. Bezels for an uncomplicated, sophisticated look with added protection. Intentional structuring to allow maximum light into the stones. All settings placed at just the right height to make creating the perfect stack effortless.

As the designer behind this collection, my goal was to imbue each ring with a sense of timelessness—to create modern heirlooms that speak to both new and old-world aesthetics, while giving the wearer the freedom to build a look that feels entirely their own.

With every sketch, I let the stones lead and speak for themselves—because the right stone should always be the starting point.
