The October Sarasota Edit is here! 🎃🍂

This month I'm rounding up the best fall festivals, family-friendly Halloween fun, what's new around town, and an honest read on the market.

Here's a taste of what's happening around Sarasota:

✨ Lights at Spooky Point is back at Historic Spanish Point all month long (Oct 1–31) for its fifth season of glowing after-dark paths and installations.

🐶 Barks & Brews Howl-O-Ween comes to The Green at UTC on Oct 13 with a pup costume contest, craft brews, live music, and local vendors, all for a good cause.

🎃 Fruitville Grove Pumpkin Festival runs every weekend in October with hayrides, a petting zoo, food trucks, and live entertainment.

🛒 Sprouts officially opened downtown at 111 Links Ave, bringing fresh specialty foods and 100 local jobs.

🍹 Tommy Bahama's Marlin Bar is now open at Waterside Place with dining, cocktails, and live music.

Plus, I mapped out the neighborhoods that go all out on Halloween decorations, and broke down what this month's market numbers mean for you. (Buyers, the opportunity right now is real!)

Tell me in the comments: which fall event is at the top of your list?

Selling a home in Sarasota is a lot more than taking good photos and putting it on the MLS. 🏡

Good marketing pulls a lot of things together at once.

It’s knowing what buyers in the area care about, understanding which features deserve the spotlight, having a network of agents and local connections to get the word out, and using social media to show the home in a way that feels bigger than a listing page.

That’s where the strategy comes in.

Because a buyer might first notice the home because of the kitchen, the yard, the location, or one small detail that finally makes them stop scrolling.

My job is to know what those details are, how to highlight them, and how to keep building interest around the home once it hits the market.

That’s what marketing a home should feel like to me. Thoughtful, intentional, and built around getting the right eyes on it.

If you’re thinking about selling in Sarasota, send me a message and I’ll walk you through how I’d approach marketing your home.

Buying your first home in Sarasota doesn’t have to mean finding the house you’ll stay in forever.

Sometimes the smartest first move is the one that gives you a solid monthly payment, a location that works for your life right now, and enough of what matters most that you can actually see yourself living there.

Your first home can teach you what you care about, give you a chance to build equity over time, and put you in a stronger position for whatever you want next.

That’s why I’d rather help you figure out what really matters than watch you wait another year for a house that checks every single box.

If you’ve been talking yourself out of buying because nothing feels “perfect,” send me START. I’ll help you look at what getting started could realistically look like for you.

Experience in real estate changes what you’re impressed by.

Early on, it’s easy to think success looks like closing deals every single week or having posts go mega viral.

After 25 years, I care a lot more about the things that don’t photograph well.

Knowing when to slow a client down before they make an expensive decision. Catching the detail that changes the entire conversation. Having the right person to call when something unexpected shows up three days before closing.

The longer I do this, the less interested I am in the flashy stats and the more interested I am in being useful.

Because most clients will never remember how packed my calendar was that year.

They’ll remember whether I made a stressful decision feel clearer. Whether I told them the truth when it would’ve been easier not to. Whether I knew what to do when the plan changed.

That’s the version of experience I care about now.

If you’re buying or selling in Sarasota and want an honest read on your situation, my DMs are open.

A lot of real estate advice in Sarasota sounds true because there’s usually a little truth buried in it.

That’s exactly why some of these misconceptions stick around.

An online estimate can be useful, but it isn’t the same thing as understanding what a home could actually sell for. An inspection can uncover a long list of issues without automatically meaning the house is a bad buy. And a list price might start the conversation, but there’s a lot more strategy behind where that number lands and what happens from there.

Those little distinctions matter because real estate decisions rarely come down to one blanket rule.

I’d much rather explain the context behind something than have you make a huge decision based on advice that only tells half the story.

If you’ve got a real estate question you’ve been too embarrassed to ask, send it my way. I promise I’ve probably heard it before.

It starts with what you consume.

And I don’t just mean what you eat.

It’s what you watch.
What you listen to.
Who you spend your time with.
The conversations you’re having.
The things you allow into your head and your life.

We’re always consuming something.

And eventually, it becomes part of how we think, how we feel, what we believe and the choices we make.

Over the last few years, I’ve found myself having more and more conversations about the things we don’t always talk about openly.

Health. Marriage. Motherhood. Money. Business. Mindset. Getting older. Starting over. And figuring out what we actually want this next chapter to look like.

The more people I talk to, the more I realize we’re asking a lot of the same questions.

So maybe it’s time we start talking about them.

Out loud. 🎙️
