Good Evening it’s Alice here posting this weekends menu...The first bank holiday weekend is approaching so this weeks menu has a holiday vibe - it’s more of a collection of dishes then an actual Menu for one meal -you could mix and match with a few of your own family favourites and if you have a few folks to feed it could give the ‘cook’a
bit of a break!!
But saying all that it would make a delicious Saturday Evening Alfresco supper - the chicken dishes can be finished off on the BBQ but can go in the oven.
MENU;
-Chilli and mango Chutney drumsticks - a real crowd pleaser!
- Satay Chicken Burger with pickled cucumber- flavoursome , addictive and easy to pull together.
- Homemade BBQ Baked Beans with smashed sweet potatoes - comforting and delicious , can be served as a meat free dinner with a green salad - comes with Cheesy Croutons .
- Maple syrup and pecan slaw .
- SOMETHING SWEET:
- The best ever banana Bread with chocolate chips - delicious warm with ice cream or Cold with a cup of tea.
How it works
- Place your order by Thursday midnight. Online payment
- You pick your food fresh from Felsted on Saturday between 12-1

Good Evening it’s Alice here posting this weekends menu...
After spending the holiday weekend entertaining or being entertained outdoors- rule of 6- I have realised a few things:
1. I have missed my gatherings
2. It might feel warm at 5pm but by 6.30 pm the temperature has plummeted!
3. It’s hard work keeping everyone fed and warm outside!
4. So I have decided that this weeks menu will help anyone who is hoping to eat in the garden with a few friends... it will also work well eaten inside In front of the wood burner! MENU; -Tuscan chicken Tortellini soup... part soup , part stew -this is proper Italian comfort food at its best - a bowlful is definitely substantial enough for dinner! -Italian Grazing Platter...Parma ham / salami / rustic pate / Roasted vegetables/ Burrata/ sun blush tomatoes/ Italian olive mix / grilled Marinated Artichokes. -Homemade Focaccia SOMETHING SWEET: -Banana and caramel Blondies. The soup and bread will need heating but the rest is good to go. £20.00 per head (minimum order of 2 people) How it works. You place your order by Thursday midnight. Online payment. You pick your food fresh Felsted on Saturday between 12-1. Please wear a mask when collecting your food.

Good Evening it’s Alice here posting the Easter weekend menu!Easter is second only to Christmas in being one of the most celebrated of Christian festivals. It begins with Good Friday or Gods Friday - After attending church, most countrymen would spend the rest of the day planting potatoes because the devil was supposed to have no power over the soil on this day. Hot Cross Buns were also eaten on this day -the cross was to ward off evil spirits that might prevent the dough raising,we retain the custom as the symbol of the cross has most significance in the churches year on this day.Easter Sunday is when the Lenten fast finishes and festive fare is eaten-This week I will be providing a choice of two meals to be collected on THURSDAY evening.
First menu is a Good Friday Fish pie -fish was first introduced in early medieval times to mortify the flesh by removing meat-eating and also to reduce the carnal passions which were thought to be inflamed by too meaty a diet!! Pudding is a Hot Cross Bun bread and butter pudding .. "as a child we only ever eat Hot Cross Buns at Easter and the first was always warm for a Good Friday Breakfast along side a boiled egg served in a Royal Doulton Bunnykins Egg cup..Still A family tradition..how I love a lightly toasted Hot Cross bun dripping with butter and full of fruit and spice! Happy Easter to you all! MENU 1:Fish pie- A delicious combination of smoked fish / fresh salmon and Prawns and served with peas/ mange tout and sugar snaps.Something sweet:Hot Cross Bun bread and butter pudding with Apricot couli and cream
PRICE : £22 per head
MENU 2:
-Smoked Salmon pate with salad garnish, lemons and served with Soda Bread.MAIN:
- Slow Roasted Lamb Shanks..Roasted Spring Lamb is usually served for lunch on Easter Sunday, the lamb representing the innocence of Christ. For ease of heating up I am using shank
- OR Honey Roasted Chicken / Honey-and garlic ju
- Dauphinois potatoes
- Beetroot & mint salad and a good green salad
Something Sweet:
- lemon tart with a raspberry couli & cream.PRICE: £26 per head Min order two portions. How it works: Place your order by Tuesday evening 12pm. Pick up Thursday Evening. Please text Alice on 07504136995 by @mrsscrumpy01

Good evening it’s Alice here posting this weekends menu.

There is nothing I like better than a new cookery book and I was fortunate that my friend Natalie gave me a very inspiration book for my Birthday on Monday - A TABLE FOR FRIENDS by Skye McAlpine: it’s got some old favourite recipes with a bit of a twist but also some new in the mix and a lovely chat before each one which I adore.

So this weekend menu is still very much a sharing meal with the star being a“Pork Wellington” it has a slightly more extravagant feel but a great meal to share with family and friends.
Any how see if this grabs you!

Next week - Easter Week I will be cooking but collection on Thursday and I will post this Sunday.

Hi Alice here posting this weekends menu. Spring is on the way and lockdown is nearly over so I’m hoping that this weeks menu reflects the optimism that is in the air!
The main course is a delicious homemade chicken burger ( taken from ‘A love of eating’) which is full of flavour and just a little bit different from your run of the mill burger. The maple chipotle sauce made with chipotle peppers in Adobe sauce takes the burger to a whole new level. Hand cut potato wedges with smoked paprika , a rainbow slaw and an interesting salad as a side.

Menu
Baked Camembert with dough balls and crudités

Homemade chicken burger with chipotle mayonnaise, hand cut pity wedges with smoked paprika, rainbow slaw, shaved fennel, melon and mozzarella salad

Something sweet
Apple roses with clotted cream

£20.00 per head (minimum order of 2 people)

The fourth Sunday in lent is commonly known as Mothering Sunday or Mother’s Day because this was the one day in the year when the older children working away from home in domestic service were allowed time off to return home and attend their mother church with the rest of their family, As was customary on this days the children usually baked a large cake to take home as a gift for their mother - the traditional Simnel cake. This was then used to feed all the Brothers and sisters and other relatives - today we think of Simnel cake as an Easter treat usually decorated with 11 marzipan balls to represent The Apostles ( we don’t Include Judas Iscariot)This weeks menu can be served for supper on Saturday evening or will make a delicious Mothering Sunday Lunch. Good Evening it’s Alice here posting this weekend menu...
I was inspired this weekend by my favourite Italian trattoria in Shoreditch - GLORIAS. It’s a 70s Capri- style Italian restaurant- light hearted and full of fun, serving a mixture of old Italian classics with a few twists. It feels as if you are in a little corner of Italy - so transport yourself and your gang to the warmth of the Italian Riviera - get the Aperol Spritz going.... open a bottle of fruity Chanti and light the candles - Spring is on its way!

The menu
- Starter - Prosciutto di Parma
- Burrata
- fresh basil pesto -focaccia
- Main course -
- Fresh homemade pappardelle
- 8 hour Beef Shin Raghu
- Truffle/butter mushroom and mascarpone
- Freshly grated parmesan
- Italian salad - romaine lettuce / cherry tomatoes and croutons for extra crunch. Italian dressing
- Something sweet .. Classic tiramisu

£20 per head (minimum order 2 people)

Good Evening it’s Alice here, posting this weekend ‘s menu.... before I get started can I just thank everyone for your support last week... we so appreciate everyone who ordered And the lovely comments that you sent -we are definitely feeling the love!!
Now for this week!
With the snap of cold weather last week it brought back memories of my time as a chalet girl in verbier - 35years ago! Going to collect the paper in the crisp cold air felt as if i should have been collecting hot bread from the Boulangerie then serving breakfast before nipping off to the slopes for a couple of black runs and a vin chaud before a lovely Alpine lunch! Sadly I am no longer a chalet girl - And with no sking holidays this year ,snowy mountains are a distant memory ... so I felt it would be great fun to recreate apres - ski dishes for you this weekend ...When I was trying out these recipes on my long suffering family I made them eat outside , with the fire pit a blaze so we could imagine we were in the Alps !
One of my favourite cooks ... Diana Henry had the same idea a couple of weeks ago in her weekend column so I’m following suit with a few tweaks here and there....
Eating out doors is completely optional but it break up the monotony of lock down and if you close your eyes , wear a fur coat and your 1980’s Raybans you could almost imagine you are in the Alps 32years ago!
The Menu:
-Croutes au Reblochon
-Poulet au Comte( Chicken Baked with Cheese and cream
- Fresh Tagliatelle
- Tenderstem Brocoli
- Green salad with a mustard dressing
-
- Something Sweet;
- Gateaux Grenoblois ( A moist single layer walnut cake ) served with poached Apples and Pears.
- Play list !!
- 1) Beautiful Day-U2
- 2)Ain’t no mountain High Enough- Diana Ross and Martin Gaye
- 3)Californication - Red Hot Chilli Peppers
- 4)Wake me up before you Go-Go - Wham!
- 5)Sweet Dreams Are Made of This- Eurythmics
- 6)The Best - Tina Turner
- 7)Cold as Ice - Foreigner
- 8) one Day - Asaf Abidjan
- FILM .... it has to be Chalet Girl! It’s just got that feel good factor and is such fun!
-
£20.00 per head (minimum order of 2 people)
