Download ![As many of you know, August was born with Spina Bifida and had his first tethered cord release surgery at just 3 months old. After new symptoms and recent scans, his neurosurgeon confirmed his spinal cord has retethered. He’ll be having another major surgery over winter break, and we’ll be ringing in the new year in the hospital. It’s been a hard season for our family—emotionally and mentally—but we’re staying strong for him and for Abby, who is being the best and bravest big sister. We’re worried, we’re stressed, we’re scared… but we’re also strong, and we know we’ll get through this.
We made a recovery wishlist together with August—books, games, plushies, art supplies—little things to bring him comfort during what’s expected to be a long recovery.
