Frank is smart, energetic, eager to learn, and happiest when he has something to do. He’s potty trained, walks beautifully on a leash, loves car rides, respects household boundaries, and is especially devoted to his toys—his ball is a favorite. Like many working-breed dogs, Frank will thrive with a family who understands that he needs more than a backyard. Thanks to @best_pawddies for sharing the urgent reality at our overcrowded shelter. Dogs continue to come in faster than they are leaving, and available kennel space is running out. Staff and volunteers cannot solve this crisis alone. Foster. Adopt. Share. And contact your Miami-Dade County elected officials. Tell them our shelter is in crisis and ask what they are doing to address overcrowding, reduce intake, expand lifesaving programs and ensure our shelter pets receive the care they deserve. Our shelter pets need all of us now. ❤️🐾 🚨 THIS IS NOT A DRILL. 🚨HELP NEEDED FOR OUR DOGS THIS IS A CALL TO ACTION. 🚨 This is the reality we are currently experiencing and dealing with at our MDAS. This is the hard reality we are facing when there is no more space, no more available kennels, but intakes don’t stop coming in. When strays and surrenders outnumber adoptions and fosters, there is simply nowhere else to put them. This is what happens when intakes keep coming in, but help doesn’t come fast enough. The truth is… WE NEED HELP!! OUR SHELTER DOGS NEED HOMES!! 🐾 This affects the quality of care we are able to provide, and it makes it IMPOSSIBLE to provide the level of care we all want for our shelter dogs. IF THE COMMUNITY DOESN’T STEP IN… THIS IS WHAT WE FACE. This is what we are forced to resort to. ➡️ THE SOLUTION? TOBY’s healing journey continues 🎉🎉 (ID #A2802347) meet the miracle makers .. Thanks to the skillful hands of the AMAZING orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Natalia Andrade, at @miamiveterinaryspecialists, who performed a VERY DIFFICULT surgery to save and repair Toby’s leg (femur) and THE most AMAZING, caring, and experienced medical foster couple, who has fostered 11 (yes, eleven 💖) dogs, @therallfamily. This good boy is home now, has started his healing journey, and will be doing physical therapy as part of the process 💖 This life-changing surgery and second chance would not be possible without the support from my good friend and dog angel @mrsyobe, who didn’t hesitate to help this young and very sweet boy 💖 Special thanks to @therallfamily for the willingness to open their hearts and home one more time for a dog in need 🥺 FOSTERS SAVE lives and make a HUGE difference in the lives of shelter dogs 💖 Please consider fostering one of our 500+ dogs, specially the long timers with more than a year waiting inside a small kennel for a family . Aldean #A2784312 is STILL waiting for his forever home. 🥺❤️‍🩹 This sweet, affectionate boy has come so far, including completing a board-and-training program thanks to @mrsyobe! He’s young, energetic, social, and loves cuddles and playtime. 🐾🥰 He has successfully played with dogs of various sizes and would thrive with a patient, committed family ready to provide structure, continued training, and plenty of love. ❤️ Aldean is still learning to manage his size and energy, but he responds well to correction and redirects easily. Although he can become excited and mouthy or body-slam during play, he is easy to correct and redirect. Overall, Aldean has shown so many amazing qualities, and his primary challenges are simply related to his youth, energy, and strength. Please read about the 3-3-3 rule for adopted or foster dogs! ❤️ UPDATE: CHANCE #A2805646 (formerly Drumstick at MDAS) ❤️ After a very, very long month—filled with pain, stress, and so much uncertainty—Chance is finally SAFE, LOVED, and resting in a home. 🥹❤️ We never loved the name Drumstick, so we renamed him Chance, because sometimes a chance is all they need to heal, feel loved, and thrive. 🐾 And that chance came because some incredible people stepped up for him. 🙏 🤍 @macarenasierralta opened her home and became his medical foster, giving him the safe place he desperately needed to recover. And Chance fell in love with her almost instantly! 🥹 🤍 @mrsyobe literally helped save his life by covering his medical expenses when he needed it most. 🤍 And the incredible team at @miamiveterinaryspecialists gave Chance the excellent medical care he needed after everything his body had endured. To every single person who shared his story, worried about him, sent love, and kept asking us for updates: THANK YOU. You were part of his journey too. Now it’s time to give Chance what he needs most: time to rest, heal, decompress, and understand that he is finally safe. UPDATE - 9/8/29 - long term foster secured💙 I will update soon on his progress 💙 Toby has been waiting for this day for months, and it’s finally coming up! 💙 TOBY — ID #A2802347- 1 year old 💙🐾 Toby is a very, VERY sweet and mellow baby who is finally getting the help he needs. He came to MDAS on July 2026 with a broken/fractured femur and has been nothing but a fantastic, gentle, good boy. He patiently waited until @mrsyobe saw his medical situation and didn’t hesitate to step in and help. 🙏💙 ➡️ Toby is scheduled to have orthopedic surgery on Tuesday at @miamiveterinaryspecialists where he will receive he best care, and we are PLEADING for a long-term foster for him so he can recover in a home setting surrounded by love and care after his surgery. Toby is very mellow, calm, friendly, and affectionate. He also seems to be dog-friendly!
