Flashback to 2014. Preceding their Coachella appearance, The 1975 filmed a music video for their song "Robbers" in a small town in the middle of the California desert called Taft.

In 2017, I was transferred to Taft as part of my service mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and ended up living there for 6 months with the opportunity to live amongst, love, serve, and teach the people of Taft. Making the connection that it was where the music video had been filmed was just a cherry on top, deepening my love for the city and filling my heart with gratitude.

The 1975, "Robbers", and the city of Taft have had a special place is my heart for a long time. On top of this band already holding so much significance in my life since highschool as their debut album was released my freshman year, I've wanted to create a tribute that was more than just a few photos from different filming locations.

It's been quite the process, but with the help of my dear friend Morgan (it is thanks to The 1975 that we met and became friends), we were finally able to bring the project to life. With limited time and resources, I'm proud of what we were able to accomplish.

This is around the 18th time or so that I've been in the same room as Dom, and over the years of listening to his music and making so many memories, it is wild to see how much he has grown as an artist and creator. Forever grateful.

What an unforgettable experience to witness Lorde performing in Utah for the first time. The rain at Kilby Block Party was absolutely ethereal with her after all these years of listening to her. I didn't expect to cry, but alas those tears were lost to the rain.
