POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
I first came here in March 2024, not knowing it would change my life. Since then I have been back over a dozen times, and every single visit pulls me deeper into this place. Zermatt is not just my favourite ski resort, it is my favourite place in the world.

With the Matterhorn looking over you, millions of years old, it puts everything into perspective. These mountains were here long before us and they will be here long after, and somehow that makes every moment on the snow feel even more meaningful.

But it is not just the mountains. It is the friends I have made along the way, the shared chairlifts, the laughs on cold mornings, the quiet moments watching the light hit the peaks. Those memories stay with you long after the skis come off.

There is something about this place that makes everything else go quiet. The noise, the stress, the distractions all fade away, and all that is left is you, the snow, and the rhythm of your turns. Every time I ski here I feel more connected, more grounded, more myself.

Some people travel to escape. I come here to feel alive and in peace. #carvecast taken in Zermatt, Switzerland by @mrthaibox123

My full review of Zermatt and the Matterhorn as well as Cervinia. The best ski resort in the world. In my opinion. What’s your favorite ? Is it Zermatt? Or somewhere else in the French alps? Or Swiss alps maybe? Or somewhere totally different? @zermattbergbahnen @zermatt.matterhorn #carvecast #stockli by @mrthaibox123

**Would I buy the same Stöckli skis again—and how do my wife’s Montero AW skis fit into the story?**

In the fifth and final video of our Stöckli series, my wife asks me: **“If you were buying your skis again, would you choose the same model and length?”** We also bring her Stöckli Montero AW skis into the conversation.

After talking about why I chose my skis, how they feel on snow, who they might suit and whether they’re worth the money, it’s time to reflect on the purchase. Would I make exactly the same choice with the experience I have now? What have I learned, and what would I tell someone considering a pair?

Including my wife’s Montero AW skis adds another perspective to the discussion. We each have our own preferences on the mountain, and choosing skis means thinking about what works for you: how you like to turn, where you enjoy skiing and what helps you feel comfortable and confident.

This episode brings the series back to the decisions that matter when buying: choosing a model, deciding on length and understanding what you want from your next pair. Loving your skis is a good starting point—but being able to explain why you’d buy them again is useful for anyone weighing up a similar purchase.

If you’re considering Stöckli skis, interested in the Montero AW or looking for an owner’s perspective beyond the specifications, I hope our conversation gives you useful questions to take into your own search.

**Catch up on the full series:**

- **Video 1:** Why I chose Stöckli skis.
- **Video 2:** Can I feel the difference—and where do I notice it most?
- **Video 3:** Who would I recommend them to?
- **Video 4:** Are they worth the money?
- **Video 5:** Would I choose the same model and length again? Plus, my wife’s Montero AW skis.

**Would you buy your current skis again—and would you change the length?** Let us know what you ski on and what you’ve learned. If you own the Stöckli Montero AW, we’d love to hear your experience too.

Thanks for watching our series. Subscribe for more skiing conversations and time on the mountain with us.

**Are my Stöckli skis worth the money—and would I spend it again?**

In part four of our Stöckli ski series, my wife asks the question that deserves an honest answer: **do I think they’re worth what I paid?**

After discussing why I chose them, how they feel on snow and who I think they might suit, we turn to value. Buying skis is a significant purchase, and enjoying a pair is one thing—but deciding whether the experience justifies the cost is another.

This conversation explores what makes that purchase worthwhile to me. How much does the feeling on snow matter? How often do you need to ski to feel you’re getting value? And how do you judge whether spending more has given you something you actually appreciate every time you head down the mountain?

I share my perspective as an owner, drawing on my own skiing and the reasons behind my choice. Whether you’re considering Stöckli skis or weighing up a more expensive pair from another brand, I hope this helps you think about what matters most in your own decision.

A ski’s value is personal. Your budget, the number of days you ski, your ability and the particular model you’re considering all shape what “worth it” means to you. This episode gives you my experience to consider alongside your own priorities.

**Catch up on the series:**

• **Video 1:** Why I chose Stöckli skis.
• **Video 2:** Can I feel the difference—and where do I notice it most?
• **Video 3:** Who would I recommend them to?
• **Video 4:** Are they worth the money?

**Have you ever spent more on ski equipment and felt it was worth every penny—or wished you hadn’t?** Share your experience in the comments, including what you bought and why.

Subscribe for the final episode, where my wife asks whether I’d choose the same model and length again, and what I’ve learned since buying them.

**Who would I recommend my Stöckli skis to—and who might find them hard work?**

In part three of our Stöckli ski series, my wife asks who I think would enjoy skiing on my skis. Choosing a pair is about finding something that suits your ability, confidence and the way you like to ski.

Following our conversations about why I chose Stöckli and how they feel on snow, this episode looks at who might get the most out of them. I share my perspective as an owner, considering skiing style, the effort they require and what someone thinking about a similar purchase should consider.

Do you like to take it easy and cruise, or do you enjoy putting more energy into your turns? Are you looking for a ski to help build confidence, or something that rewards the technique you already have? These are useful questions when deciding whether a particular ski will suit you.

The discussion is about my own skis and experience. Stöckli makes different models, so the model and length you choose matter when comparing my impressions with your own needs.

If you’re considering a pair, I hope this conversation helps you think beyond whether they’re “good skis” and focus on whether they’re a good fit for **you**.

Catch up on the series:
• **Video 1:** Why I chose Stöckli skis.
• **Video 2:** Can I feel the difference, and where do I notice it most?
• **Video 3:** Who would I recommend them to?

**What do you want most from your skis: easy turns, confidence, grip or performance when you push harder?** Tell us in the comments, along with what you currently ski on.

Subscribe for the next episode, where my wife asks the big question: **are they worth the money?**

Can you actually feel the difference on Stöckli skis—and where do you notice it most?

In video two, my wife asks me what my Stöckli skis feel like on the mountain. Once you move beyond the specifications and the price tag, what matters is how much you enjoy skiing on them.

I share my experience of how they feel underfoot, how they respond as I turn, and where I notice the biggest differences compared with the skis I used before. It’s a conversation about the sensations that can be difficult to judge when you’re looking at skis in a shop or reading about them online.

When someone says a ski feels “smooth”, “stable” or “responsive”, what does that actually mean to them? Does it give them more confidence? Does turning feel easier or more predictable? Does it suit the way they like to ski? Those are the kinds of questions behind this conversation.

If you’re considering Stöckli skis or wondering what a change of skis might feel like, this video offers one owner’s perspective. Your experience will depend on the particular model and length, your setup, your ability, and the conditions you ski in. Trying a pair yourself is a useful way to discover whether that feeling suits you.

This is part two of our series, with my wife asking the questions that other skiers might want answered. Watch the first video for the story behind why I chose Stöckli and what I was hoping to improve.

**Have you ever changed skis and immediately felt a difference?** Tell us which skis you moved from and to—and what stood out on your first run.

Subscribe for the next conversation, where we’ll discuss who these skis might suit and who might find them hard work.
