Through the Storm: Chapter 39
38 taught me.
39 gets to watch me apply it.
Walking into the final year of my 30s grateful for every lesson, every blessing, every loss, every win, every person who stayed, and even the ones who were only meant to be there for a season.

👑 YOUNG KING ENERGY. 🤠🔥

I met this young man at the rodeo, and I’m telling you… little dude impressed me. His confidence, the way he speaks, his poise, his creativity, his work ethic — you can already see there’s something special being built in him.

Watching him excitedly unbox his custom Burns Brims cowboy hat made this one hit a little different for me.

Growing up without a father, there were certain skills, lessons, and experiences I simply wasn’t lucky enough to have a man there to teach me. So when I see a father present and intentional, teaching his son how to work with his hands, how to carry himself, how to speak with confidence, how to embrace his artistic side, and ultimately how to grow into a man… I notice it. And I respect it. 💯

And I have to give Mom her flowers too. 🌹 Meeting both of his parents, you can see that this young king has a strong foundation behind him. But seeing Dad right there every step of the way, pouring knowledge into his son — that’s legacy being built in real time.

Little man is already something special. If this is who he is this young, I can only imagine the man he’s going to become.

It was an honor to make his crown. 👑🤠

We grabbed the Uptown Philly and the Apple Pie Cheesecake Eggroll and BAYBEEEE… 🤤🤤 That apple pie cheesecake joint had NO BUSINESS being that good! 😂

I remember when they were posted up over by the train tracks. Now they’ve leveled up into their bigger spot at 301 Camp Road, right next door to Surefire. Love seeing the growth! 📈👏🏾

I’m extremely proud to announce that my wife, Desiree Burns, has officially accepted her new position as CEO of the NFL Department of Mascot Innovation & Family Experience. 🏈😂

Now I know what y’all thinking: “I’ve never heard of that department.” That’s because y’all don’t know everything about the NFL. Hell, y’all just found out yesterday that I play for TWO teams. 😂 Stay informed.
Desi’s first initiative as CEO is simple: Football has gotten entirely too aggressive. 😂 She wants Sundays to be safer, softer, fluffier, and more family-friendly.
She’s NOT getting rid of the teams. She’s just making a few minor adjustments to the mascots.
The Denver Broncos? 🐎
Too aggressive. Effective immediately: Denver Ponies. 😂
The Baltimore Ravens? 🐦‍⬛
A little dark and intimidating for the children. Effective immediately: Baltimore Hummingbirds. 🌸🐦😂

The Carolina Panthers? 🐆
Absolutely not. Too many teeth. We are currently reviewing Carolina Kittens. 🐱😭

The Detroit Lions? 🦁
Unnecessarily hostile. The committee is strongly considering the Detroit Golden Retrievers. 🐕😂

The Chicago Bears? 🐻
We’re keeping the bear, but he will now be fluffier, emotionally available, and approachable. 😂

And yes, I asked her about the Philadelphia Eagles since apparently I WORK THERE NOW. 🦅 She told me to stay in the player department and let her handle executive business. 🤦🏾‍♂️😂

🚨 BREAKING NFL NEWS — since apparently I gotta teach y’all how football works. 😂🏈

First of all, YES, I was DOUBLE DRAFTED. San Francisco picked me up 1st Round, # 1 overall, then Philadelphia came back and grabbed me 2nd Round, # g1 overall. Two teams. Same player. Two contracts. Y’all just don’t know the NFL like you THINK you do. 😂
And before somebody asks,
“Well what happens when the 49ers play the Eagles??” 🤦🏾‍♂️

Simple. COIN FLIP. 🪙
Whichever team wins the coin toss gets me FIRST HALF. I suit up, run out the tunnel, handle business, then when halftime hits I go into a private locker room, change uniforms, switch helmets, get a fresh Gatorade and come back out FOR THE OTHER DAMN TEAM. 😂😂
So technically I could sack my own quarterback in the second half. READ YOUR NFL RULEBOOK. Y’all be watching football every Sunday and STILL don't know nothing. 🤦🏾‍♂️😂

And another thing y’all probably didn't know: I'm also a professional licensed massage therapist. 💆🏾‍♂️🏈 So after I play both sides of the ball AND both sides of the damn STADIUM, I can get the whole cheerleader squad together!
