I’ve waited 28 years to hear this song played live! First time seeing Mercury Rev last night. We had Bob Ross on drums, Dale Bozzio on keys, Eric from Hole on keys, Jim Belushi on guitar and David Jaskey from Incognito on vocals (Royal Oak joke). The Whigs played maybe the best show ever for their 40th anniversary tour. Seeing them again Sunday at Pappy and Harriets. taken in The Bellwether by @ms.daisyflowers

FINALLY! My first Redd Kross show ever. Such a fun band. Lorraine always was a fan, then Jen took me to see their documentary last year which I highly recommend. Great songs, I love Jeff and Steven’s sibling dynamic. Makes me wonder what would have happened if Heather (aka Gunnar Nelson) didn’t go and save lives for an occupation and picked up a guitar. 🤪 taken in Lodge Room Highland Park by @ms.daisyflowers

Super fun day at the Mardi Gras Dog Parade with great friends at Benny Boy Brewery. While Tiger didn’t win he was the cutest “alligator” I’ve ever seen. And we have big plans to take the prize next year!

Robert Pattinson- T: The New York Times Style Magazine (December, 2024)

I was a little late finding these images taken by Collier Schorr. No I didn’t style Robert Pattinson, he’s just lying on my car! I ended up driving it to location myself, parked it in position, and the crew was so nice. The producer showed me a vintage photo that was the inspiration. Pretty sure he said it taken by Schorr’s father back in the day, who was an automotive photographer. I took a quick shot of his laptop but couldn’t find any more about it. BEATNIK BUNGALOW OR WHAT SHOULD I CALL THIS PLACE?

So I took possession my house in Ferndale on Devil’s Night 1995, I had closed earlier that month. I went there that night and the previous owner John was sitting on the couch and he was like, “oh I thought you were moving in tomorrow”. He grabbed some things out of the dishwasher and left. I slept on the floor that night, I was pretty stoked about buying a house. And the next day I gave out candy on Halloween looking like a real weirdo with the previous owner’s furniture stacked high on the porch (slow mover) and no furniture in the house yet. I had a chair- my 60’s lucite chair and ottoman, my first piece, that I bought from Senate/Detroit Antique Mall when I was 18.  
I still love that house. A couple years ago I started Airbnb-ing it when I know I’m going to be busy in LA. I don’t book too far in advance because there’s always a chance I’ll book a job in Detroit and I’m always happy to come back. But maybe I should and I can always stay at my Mom’s if there’s any conflict. I lock my room and then the guest or couple have the other bedroom and the run of the house. Last year was pretty busy so I made some improvements. New couch, globe chair, op art mirror set, night stand, and no more boring back stairway! Because of the controversy with one of the co-founders of Airbnb joining DOGE, I was going to do an IG page and set up for direct bookings. I will still use the ABB platform as well.

Tamela, my good friend and ABB guru, came up with the name Beatnik Bungalow. It’s a 1922 Bungalow done up super mod 60s. I remember we were wondering at the time if the kids even know at a beatnik is. I figured I should be totally sure about the name before I did off platform marketing. Anyone have any ideas? And please no Austin Powers references, I’ve heard that enough-yeah baby yeah!
