Silk Press season is officially here. 🍂

As much as I wear wigs, I’m always intentional about maintaining healthy hair so when it’s time to take the wig off, I can still get a GOOD silk press.

ONE WIG. SIX INSTALLS. And I still haven’t gotten tired of her. 😮‍💨

Same wig. Six completely different moments.

This is why I’ll always choose quality hair over having a closet full of units. When the hair is good, you can take it from sleek → textured → curly → whatever the mood calls for, and it still looks GOOD.

I’ve installed this wig 6 different times and every time I’m reminded: the right wig doesn’t just give you a look — it gives you OPTIONS.

I’m 31 and I’m a bit embarrassed to admit that…

1. I give hair advice all day, but often neglect my own. After doing everyone else’s hair, finding the energy to do mine feels impossible.

2. I’m learning that my perfectionism is probably the #1 thing holding me back. I’ll avoid a task for three days that takes 15 minutes to do because I’ve overthought it to death. I’m literally doing it right now.

3. I still get nervous before some clients sit in my chair, even though I’ve been doing hair full-time for 5 years.

4. Sometimes I miss having a corporate paycheck. Not knowing how much money I’m going to make each month gives me anxiety.

5. I’m still learning that taking care of myself has to be a priority, not something I get to when everything else is done.

6. Sometimes I worry that I’m waiting too long to have children. But I also refuse to settle just because I feel pressured, and that’s a hard balance to navigate.

7. I haven’t told many people that I’m a cancer survivor because I don’t want to be treated differently because of it.

As a hairstylist, I know better… but being a hairstylist doesn’t make me immune to the same hair struggles my clients have. 😂

Humidity is going to humidity, and when the forecast calls for rain, choosing a style that works with the weather instead of against it is everything.

The rain definitely put my hair to the test, but honestly, I’d say these products held up pretty well considering the circumstances.

Would my hair have looked better if I stayed dry? Absolutely. 🤣 But this is a realistic look at how these products perform in the real world—not just under perfect conditions.

ULTA Beauty World was not what I expected, but everything I needed. 🤍

The energy, the brands, the people… it all just hit different. I came for beauty and left feeling like I actually experienced something special.
