Saturday brought a little football, a lot of nostalgia, and the annual reminder that I live in a house divided.

My best girl’s first Purdue–ND game was made even better with her godparents and their son, a stop at my old sorority house (where we found old composit photos), and a whole lot of Boilermaker pride.

She may have been there to cheer for the Irish. I was there to provide her with proper cultural education.

Purdue roots run deep. ND loyalty runs… deep too. We’ll keep working on her. 😂💛🖤☘️

Some months are for accomplishing things.

August was for remembering why we work so hard the rest of the year.

We went from the Rocky Mountains of Colorado to the beaches of Virginia, collecting sunshine, scenery, family time, and approximately 4,000 photos I will absolutely never organize.

A little adventure. A little rest. A lot of memories.

It was our month to relax. To wander. To make memories without checking the clock too much.

And honestly? I think we’re onto something.

I’d like to formally request that August be extended indefinitely.

2016 🤍

Ten years ago, I thought I was overwhelmed.
Drowning, even. I thought there wasn’t enough time in the day, and that my patience was worn thin. With a 1-year-old and a 4-year-old hanging onto me and begging for my attention, little did I know that I was living one of the best parts of my life.

Take me back to a time before sports schedules ruled our lives.
Before nightly homework and late practices consumed every weekday.
Before exhaustion looked different.

Back when bedtime was early,
evenings were quiet,
and “me time” actually existed.

In 2016 we lived at the beach.
There was a saltwater pool with a waterfall and cascading hot tub in the backyard.
My biggest worry of vanity was losing the baby weight — not wrinkles, not gray hair quietly making itself at home. Yeah those times were tough.

Two babies fit perfectly on my lap.
I was their entire world (besides Disney Junior).
And they were mine.

I didn’t know how fleeting it all was.
How heavy nostalgia would feel years later.
How I’d look back and wish I could tell that young mom to soak it all in just a little longer.

I know now, that if I could do it all again…and hear their tiny voices and laughter, and hold their little hands, that I would trade places with her in a heartbeat. by @ms.liley

Christmas Eve morning, nice and slow.
Starting the day with homemade cinnamon rolls from @pennyspastries.somd warmed in the oven and gingerbread coffee in a Santa mug.

Christmas Eve is all about tradition, anticipation, lots of food, tracking Santa, matching pajamas, and sibling sleepovers — but this quiet morning moment before it all begins is my favorite.

December is loud and fast and full—full calendars, full hearts, full arms.
The days blur together in a swirl of lists, messes, traditions, and tiny moments that somehow matter the most.

Motherhood this time of year feels a little crazy… but also magical.
Because being a mom is being a magic maker. It’s creating wonder in the middle of chaos. It’s choosing joy even when you’re tired. It’s knowing that every bit of the hustle is worth it when you see it through their eyes.

Time is moving far too quickly. These hands won’t always reach for mine, these voices won’t always sound like this, and these moments won’t stay forever. But right now—right here—this season, these babies, this life… it’s everything.

And I’d do all the December chaos a thousand times over for the privilege of being their mom.

We were lucky enough to be invited to the soft opening of Boone’s Bagels just two weeks ago… and we’ve already been back multiple times since.

The wildest part? Our two boys who refused to eat bagels before are now bagel obsessed. Boone’s officially worked its magic. ✨

I’m so happy our town got this little gem. The atmosphere is so cozy and warm—with dark brown walls, curated antiques, and Christmas décor that reminds me of something out of my grandmother’s house.

So far I’ve tried:
Blueberry
Everything
Blueberry Crunch
Cinnamon Raisin Crunch

All amazing… but now I need help: what flavor should I try next? 👇🏻

✨ Eighteen years. ✨

Although today is the big day, we celebrated this weekend at @29omakase.dc in Georgetown — an unforgettable omakase experience of 22 exquisite courses. I didn’t take a single photo (though each dish was a work of art) because I wanted to be fully in the moment — savoring, listening, and sharing it all with my husband.

Chef Zach was extraordinary — both in his craft and his warmth. Every bite felt thoughtful, balanced, and alive and the ambiance had certain lightness that set it apart from other omakase we’ve had in D.C. I did, however, jot down each course — a quiet keepsake from an evening that deserves to be remembered in words more than pictures.

Eighteen years of love, laughter, and growing together — and an evening that felt like the perfect reflection of it all: intentional, beautiful, and deeply satisfying.

Autumn is my love language.

Saying goodbye to summer is never easy… but if we have to trade in flip flops and pool days, I’ll take pumpkins and pixie dust any day 🎃✨💫

The kids and I made one last magical memory before summer ended this year—Cinderella’s Castle, pumpkin smiles, and hearts full of Disney joy. 🏰💛 There’s just something about this place that makes transitions feel a little softer and the seasons feel a little more special.

My best girl and I spontaneously decided to sneak out early for a little mom-daughter coffee date before the day gets busy — just the two of us, no rush, no plans, just good coffee and even better conversation.

Our favorite local shop never disappoints. The brown sugar shaken espresso and egg salad avocado toast are always on point. Today it was served with the cutest patriotic twist.

If this is how the 4th of July is starting, I think we’re in for a pretty great day. ❤️🤍💙✨
