It's #SkinCancerAwarenessMonth! Did you know skin cancer is the most common cancer in the US?
• Seeking shade, especially during peak sun hours (10 am - 4 pm)
• Wearing protective clothing, like hats and long sleeves
• Using broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher every single day, even on cloudy days!
Early detection is key! Do a monthly skin self-check and know the ABCDEs of melanoma:
• Asymmetry: One half unlike the other
• Border: Irregular, notched, or blurred
• Color: Varied shades of brown, black, or tan, or areas of red, white, or blue
• Diameter: Larger than 6 millimeters (the size of a pencil eraser)
• Evolving: A mole or skin lesion that is changing in size, shape, or color
