You’ve been warned; she’s a shapeshifter in disguise. Tonight's flavor? She’s serving you the usual: a glamorous ghoul. 🧷𖤐🦴

These photos encapsulate the shapeshifting entity that Melat Morningstar is. I like to associate that aesthetic and vibe with fluidity; the joy of being fluid, of slipping between worlds and appearances, whether it may be in or out of drag, has truly helped me revel in the joy of becoming, and I couldn’t be more grateful for it.

This week, 2 years ago, I stepped onto the Cebu Drag Scene stage with a vision—a vision to be as unique as I can and to bring something new to the table, which, in my case, was modern alternative drag with a taste of my fantasy. I’ve always wanted to show up and show out without any fear of being judged for my twisted little drag persona, with a love for conceptualizing almost every little thing, and to prove that alternative drag still exists and doesn’t just exist on Halloween.

As twisted as I may seem to be, I would like to dedicate these photos as a love letter to the underdogs, my fellow alternative queens, and of course, to the pioneers of Cebu Alternative Drag: @theageofdahlia and @morphamua, to show how their influence has shaped the children in the Cebu drag scene by taking risks, being unapologetic, and for the continuous support that they offer and show to their fellow alt daughters and sisters.

This is only the beginning. Mabuhay ang Cebu Alternative Drag! 🦇💫

History has been made, and I’m still trying to process it all. To be crowned the first-ever ‘Wosh ka et’ All Stars Winner is a total dream, but this crown isn’t just mine. It belongs to everyone who helped me get here. A massive thank you to @censored.cebu , @gumamela.bloom , and @itsmarialava for giving us the platform to showcase our artistry and for keeping the Cebu drag scene alive. Thank you also to the judges for their time, their critiques, and for trusting me with this title.🧎
