IT’S GRADUATION DAY! Our honor roll, 2x all city for volleyball, Prom Queen, Volleyball caption, and my little sister Dayla has graduated high school today. Dayla has been a force from the time she was born. In my heels from 6yr if not before (she would get on me if I posted the video 😅). I am so proud of you and excited to see the woman you become after going to college at Kentucky State University 💚💛. We will be loud and proud while cheering you on when you cheerlead next year! Session 2 of Queens To Be Academy is complete 💜

Last week, we focused on taking care of our bodies from the outside. Today, we turned inward—having honest conversations about how to care for our minds and protect our confidence in a world that often challenges the identity of Black girls and girls of color.

We closed out the day by journeying through the Keys of Confidence—writing through personal prompts in our journals that helped us look within. With each key, we took time to reflect on who we are and how God sees us. From naming our strengths to showing ourselves kindness, the girls left with words they wrote, and truths they can return to.

Huge thank you to all the girls who showed up fully and openly. I’m so grateful for our amazing support system—thank you to LaKetta @ketta2023 for being such a wonderful mentor today, my dad and partner for holding it down with setup, pictures, and takedown, and B Mobile for providing breakfast. And a very special thank you to Deja @_cocoabutterqueen for creating Queens To Be and being open to expanding her vision to Columbus.

Session 1 of Queens To Be Academy is in the books! ✅ This week we focused on hygiene by having real conversations with the girls about taking care of their bodies, making our own DIY oat flour face masks, and creating hygiene bags filled with goodies they can use at home. 🧖🏾‍♀️

I have to give a huge thank you to our Queens To Be Academy Creator & Director, Deja @_cocoabutterqueen for flying in all the way from the Bay Area to Columbus just to help us kick off our very first session. It meant so much to have her in the Buckeye State and I’m truly grateful that she trusted me to expand her beautiful creation here in Columbus. Thank you for believing in me and this city 💛

Thank you to everyone who donated and to B-mobile for catering and keeping our girls well fed and full of joy.

We’re also accepting hygiene products and other donations to help our girls feel confident and cared for—inside and out.

My lil brother is graduating this month and I can’t take it! My first sibling. My sibling that I prayed so hard for and finally got at 13 is getting ready to graduate. I couldn’t be more proud of his accomplishments and I pray that he continues grow while he walks in Gods light.

He has broken multiple school records, including 100+ wins in wrestling and setting the record for discus at Centennial. In his senior year, Dewayne has been a team Captain for football and voted as the Homecoming King.

Yall pray for us this month, I will be crying all month. Two more siblings next year and I can’t believe that either but this year is his time to shine. I’m so proud of you. Congratulations Dewayne.
