Congratulations, Dr. Hicks! 🎓👏🏿
This graduation season, I had the honor of witnessing my friend earn his PhD. It’s been a privilege to watch his resilience, strength, passion for his craft, and brilliance up close.
Langston Hughes reminded us that life ain’t been no crystal stair — and for Black men in this country, that road has always come with extra weight to carry, extra doubt to push past, extra steps to prove what was never in question. Watching you climb it anyway, and make it look effortless, is inspiring.
Continue changing the world, one mind at a time. 🌎✨ by @msbrittneydee

Our dream has always been for the church we were raised in to be a place where the community could get everything they needed — and today, that dream showed up in real life.
I voted at my church. @wearebethelsola has been a cornerstone in Watts for 79 years, and casting my ballot here filled me with a pride and joy I can barely put into words. As a third-generation member, I didn’t just vote for myself — I voted with every soul who built this place before me.
It means everything that this is a space where I can worship, fulfill my civic duties, and do it all with family🤎
In times like these — when our rights, especially the rights of Black people, are under attack — a safe place built on love isn’t just meaningful. It’s necessary. Our ancestors and the generations who laid this foundation would be so proud.
Now go make them proud too.
Vote like your life depends on it. Because it does. 🗳️ #vote #godisgood by @msbrittneydee

2026 NBA All-Star Weekend | Los Angeles 🏀✨
A time was had.

From Watts to Beverly Hills, our impact was felt across the entire city — community to culture, block to boardroom.

Nobody does it like LA.

Take a bow, @thinktrue_ 👏🏾

Happy Birthday, my sweet girl! Oh, how I miss you. You’d be so proud of me.

I got those degrees we talked about. I finally mastered your shade of red lipstick. I bake like you (my gingerbread still needs some work, I’ll keep trying).
I pray like you.
I give like you.
I serve like you.
I love God like you.
Thank you for such a rich inheritance. by @msbrittneydee

Life has been heavy. During the month of October, I chose stillness. I took time to let my nervous system be rejuvenated and sit quietly with God. Out of that quiet, these truths settled in my heart:
1. Like the leaves, we’re meant to shed what no longer serves our next season. 🍁🍂🍃
2. Your calling is bigger than your emotions.
3. Peace isn’t found in running from the hard things - it’s found when you invite God into them and allow Him to carry you through it.
4. God delights in being your Father. Let Him. 🤍
5. When you seek His face, He shows up. Every time!
6. When you shift, so will everything around you.
7. You cannot receive with a clenched fist. Let it go - whatever your it is.
8. Healing is not just about awareness - it’s about unlearning your patterns and choosing to do things differently.
9. Alignment > Familiarity
10. Faith > Worry (Matthew 6:25-30, go read it!)

I hope this helps someone! by @msbrittneydee
